Almost time to walk away from the computer?! The yard needs weed whacking; weeds need to be pulled from planters! After three weeks… definitely time  to do the laundry. Paperwork is waiting…. Furthermore, there is a mini-storage facility–several miles down the highway–that begs my attention (“downsizing”).  Closer to home, the squirrels and birds would appreciate food in their feeders. ~~ The heat and humidity leave me lethargic; I really don’t want to “do” anything!! The swimming pool looks inviting, I’ll try that soon.

Sunday, July 13th, 2014, 2:00 PM. Slow and easy is my motto for today. Too hot to be outside this afternoon!! This morning, I accomplished “laundry”!! I’m preparing sugar-water for the Hummingbirds (NEVER buy the prepared chemical red stuff because it kills the birds); I’ve spent time on the computer because, thankfully, I have a free Wifi signal from the CARE Center. Tomorrow, anyone’s guess whether I’ll have a WiFi signal. Now, I am going to relax in my comfortable glider and watch another chapter in the 1985 mini-series titled North and South. The entire set of eight DVDs cost less than $15 and purchased the afternoon, evening, and night spent at Walmart in Midlothian, Texas. (I have a love-hate relationship with Walmart. I love to spend the night in their parking lots; I hate the way they treat their “associates” and I rarely shop Walmart. However, while availing myself of their hospitality, I browse every aisle and occasionally succumb to an impulse purchase [North and South]. I always spend money because fair and honest thing to do.)

There should be an easier way to get my pictures from Picasa to my blog. If you know how, let me know.

After I upload the pictures from my Canon camera, I look at each picture and edit it. As you have noticed, I like to add an explanation to some of the pictures.

Even I am confused!! (You’re not alone!) I could be doing laundry–or “downsizing”–(or a dozen other things) but I actually love to prepare blog messages. (I love the challenge.) Today I decided I’d try to share with you details regarding lengthy preparation of messages for Little George Havens’ Cowboy Camp Meeting.

With all these messages about the recent trip, I questioned what I was doing four years ago. So I took a little trip down “Memory Lane.”

One year ago, I was obsessive-compulsive about the Bluebird family in my back yard. Numerous messages were prepared.

Bluebirds were on my mind in 2012.

History repeats itself. On this date in 2011, I was saying “Wimpy, wimpy, wimpy.” ~~ Today–at 6:25 PM–the outside temperature is 95 degrees. I’ve been inside my air-conditioned trailer all day!!

I spent hours trying to upload the pictures–as an album that would cycle automatically through the pictures.  It’s a gift; a “Source” bigger than myself miraculously made it happen!! Just “touching base.”  I’ve been working on the blog messages about my recent travels. I’m obsessive–compulsive!! Yesterday an anticipated package arrived and I quickly began to assemble the various parts. It didn’t take long. Then I attached the antenna and PVC-pipe temporarily to the ladder. I was anxious to install the software and see if I could receive a free WiFi signal from the CARE Center. Oh, joy!! Yes, I am receiving a signal!! Time will tell whether I’ll be able to download and upload pictures–and work on my blog messages.  This morning (Sunday) was fine because no personnel working (on computers) in the CARE Center and few (if any) residents using WiFi inside the Center. Today I had the luxury of staying in my pajamas until noon. Between downloads, I could move around my big trailer (versus the tiny T@B teardrop trailer) and do minor tasks. Truthfully, much to be done and I’ll have to take a break from blogs to do laundry–and tidy the cluttered trailer(s). The plants need watering–here and inside the Center. I need to shop for groceries!! ~~ Look at the outside temperature; picture taken a few minutes ago.

Postscript: Tuesday, July 8, 2014, 10:00 AM: I’ve just spent over four hours preparing the message for Thursday, June 26th. It takes so-o-o-o much time to check each picture before inserting it in the blog. I’m “driven”; I can’t stop; I’m anxious to get each message completed and published. I’m doing well (don’t you think?) because a wealth of information has already been published. I’ve been home less than one week!! I shopped yesterday for groceries, and hose clamps (at Lowe’s) to secure the PVC-pipe to the ladder. I haven’t done laundry. FYI: The items I purchased from Rokland are very good (IMHO). I’m getting a very good signal so I’ll be able to discontinue the Verizon “Hot Spot” and save over $50. per month. I’m not a computer geek so I haven’t an answer to my question “Why do I have a better signal in my trailer versus physically sitting in CARE Center?”  OK, OK, I suspect I have less WiFi antenna strength built into my laptop. The Yagi has much more. (Nobody told me; I figured that out by myself.) 9:00 PM and I finished, and published, Friday, June 27th. All day on the computer. My eyes are weary!!

Extremely busy all day. Many hours working on the Cowboy Camp Meeting messages. ~~ More later; it is almost nine PM and I have to leave the CARE Center.

Read the history of our country this 4th…please at least read this and ponder it. And thank all who are now serving or have served in our military.
Many high school graduates this day and time do not know why we celebrate the 4th of July.

Our 4th Of July:

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56
men who signed the Declaration of Independence?
Five signers were captured by the British as traitors,
and tortured before they died.

Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.

Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army;
another had two sons captured.

Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or
hardships of the Revolutionary War.

They signed and they pledged their lives, their
fortunes, and their sacred honor.

What kind of men were they?

Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists.

Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and
large plantation owners; men of means, well-educated,
but they signed the Declaration of Independence
knowing full well that the penalty would be death if
they were captured.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and
trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by
the British Navy. He sold his home and
properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British
that he was forced to move his family almost
constantly. He served in the Congress without pay,
and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions
were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall,
Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and
Middleton.

At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson,Jr., noted that
the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson
home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General
George Washington to open fire. The home was
destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed.
The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife’s bedside as she was
dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and
his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests
and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished.

So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and silently thank these patriots. It’s not much to ask for the price they paid.

Remember: freedom is never free! We thank these early patriots, as well as those patriots now fighting to KEEP our freedom!

I hope you will show your support by sending this to as many people as you can, please. It’s time we get the word out that patriotism is NOT a sin, and the Fourth of July has more MEANING to it than beer, fireworks, HOT DOGS, and picnics……

Did you miss me?? I didn’t have WiFi. ~~ It will take a week or more to bring the blog up-to-date. I took more than 700 pictures during the week; uploaded 634 from Canon camera. I’ll need to check each before they are published. ~~ I thought you might like to know I had a wonderful time, and arrived home safely. 

FYI: Working with pictures and editing a blog rapidly eats up time on my Verizon “hot spot.” Therefore, I’m forced to use unsatisfactory free WiFi in the CARE Center. It’s “free”; I’m not complaining!
