Prestigious ancestors ?!
.
The sad recent anniversary prompted me to “work” with my Quaker ancestry (on Ancestry.com). The families had been documented several years ago but new records available .
In many respects, via Ancestry, I am “traveling” again as I reflect on my experiences. In 1992 I traveled from Southern California to Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, for a Coffin Family Reunion. I did research in addition to visiting historic sites. (See a copy of the book I wrote about that experience.) Subsequent travels took me to Fountain City, Indiana, and the home of Levi Coffin (“President” of the Underground Railroad). ~~ My travels were/are an asset as I document individuals in my “tree.” So many errors have appeared in “other individual” Ancestry member family trees. I talk to my computer and say “Been there, done that.” Tha
t person didn’t marry in (example) California (their entire life is North Carolina). ~~ I did “research”; I don’t “copy”….
While living in North Carolina, I also researched my Quaker ancestors in Guilford County.
Two, too ?!
Same-o, same-o !!
Inquiring minds want to know !!
The accompanying image was found during a search of “clip art” for “same-o, same-o.” I was hesitant to use in earlier blog message because the hand gesture might be offensive. I’m curious… so
I searched Google in an effort to find an answer. Frittered away a lot of time but no answer. (A lot of sign language web sites.)
.
My sincere apology if an offensive gesture.
TEX Noteline
You’re familiar with NBC Dateline and ABC Nightline?! Awake during the night, I decided to title this blog message “TEX Noteline.” (TEX for Texas.)
Two Melatonin gummies chewed just before ten PM but I was still awake at 11:00, and 12:00. Then brief sleep but awake at 1:08 AM. Another brief sleep but awake at 2:06. Still awake at 2:32 but sometime thereafter fell asleep until 4:11 AM. Another brief sleep until 5:24. My body (or brain) then indicated “stop the marry-go-round” and get off (get up). “Up” at 6:30 and coffee will be ready soon. I’m yawning repeatedly and rubbing my sleepy eyes.
“Coffee” yes, but no caffeine after ten yesterday morning. I took my many supplements but was cautious about food intake. Could restaurant-style tortilla chips be the culprit? I had some with a sandwich at noon. What ingredient am I ingesting that is stronger than the sleep aid Melatonin??
Change of topic: Weather. Yesterday the TV meteorologist said “
It may be October but still feels like August.” The recent rain soaked the soil and contributes to the humidity.
.
Horrible anniversary !!
One year anniversary of mass murder of concertgoers in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Stephen Paddock is my eighth cousin.
Good and bad ancestors on my family tree. Here is a blog message with details about several family members.
Reliable report
Two Melatonin about 8:45 PM; in bed at 9:00 PM. Must have quickly fallen asleep but awake at 10:15. During the night, I documented “awake” times: 12:37, 1:25, 2:17, and 3:34. Although interrupted sleep, I’m glad to report I feel capable of tackling the challenges of the day!!
For the record: No supplements yesterday, very selective diet, limited time at the computer. Every effort to prevent another “zombie” night and day.
Zombie (not Halloween costume) !!
Regrettably, I must confess that I am–and will be–a Zombie today. The Melatonin did not “work” last night!! I documented watching the clock–hour-after-hour. I was awake at 6:40 AM but must have fallen asleep shortly thereafter. I awakened at 7:40 AM. I’m so tired I can barely put one foot in front of the other. ~~ During the night I questioned (myself) hoping to identify the culprit. Was it something I ate? “No.” Could it be one of the new supplements? “Maybe.” Was it time spent on the computer after 7:00 PM? “Quite possible.” (The light from computer screens messes with our brain.)
Speaking of supplements: Have you noticed they are “Senior-proof”?? Yesterday, I attempted to open the recent-purchase containers. I’m more active than a lot of Seniors (I know) so I guarantee they have the same struggle.
