…my water problem is miniscule!!

“Yes, both tarps were used under the trailer” (to lay on). Nasty job!! Honestly, I’ve noticed what I believed to be “a little leak.” However, Jim and Roger were concerned enough to crawl under the trailer looking for the source. OMG!! There was a big crack in a pipe and water had been collecting in the insulation for a long time. After a trip to Lowe’s, the broken pipe was spliced. Now we wait for everything to dry out. Later, they will install new insulation under the trailer.

“Hurricane Matthew” has dumped rain, wind, havoc, devastation and death on the Caribbean, Florida, and Georgia. Too soon for reports about damage in North and South Carolina. Believe me, I’m not complaining about my water damage!!

There won’t be any fanfare (for me) in the CARE Center. However, I’m fond of “looking back” at activities in earlier years. The 2012 blog message is titled For your information. On Tuesday, October 6, 2009, I wrote about Pigeon Forge to Asheville. 

Recently, I did an Internet search regarding blower/vacuum/mulcher. Today I decided to price-check Walmart, and Tractor Supply. To my delight (at Walmart), the very model I want was reduced from $77.00 to $45.00. Without hesitation, the Worx went into my shopping cart. Then I browsed many garden supply display counters (in the parking lot) because hundreds of garden items on sale. (The Garden Shop is now a Christmas Shop.) I’ll be honest, my shopping trip cost a few pennies less than $134.00. (No groceries.)

My heartfelt prayers for the folks in the path of Hurricane Matthew. I’ve been following TV weather reports the last few days.

“Yours truly” regularly does “deadheading“ of spent blooms on plants in my “yarden.” I’m on several gardening lists and just received this link (via email). ~~ Aren’t you glad for a new topic?? ~~ Furthermore: I’m eating a citrus fruit that is completely new to me. A friend in the adjacent RV Park gave me some of her homegrown “Satsumas.” Throughout my life, I’ve known of Satsuma plums but never Satsuma citrus.

For two days, I have been working in, and around, my tarp shelter. At long last, the weather is pleasant and I can spend hours in my “yarden.” The BIG problem: So much to do and so little energy!! Yesterday, I moved out a lot of  “surface clutter.” Today some went back… but some went in the trash. (I considered an email to CARE and RV Park residents saying “free garden stuff” but know [from previous experience] nobody would be interested.) The pictures show the inside… left to right.

For the Winter, I will hang more bird feeders (and keep them filled). I have more of “everything bird” than I can use but alternate occasionally. Soon a new tarp will cover the framework because last season’s tarp is tattered, and leaks. (I’m so blessed to have all that storage for my garden stuff.) Before putting things away, I scrubbed dirty storage containers. (I’m glad I don’t have to pay for all the water I use [with my garden hose].)

A Hummingbird isn’t always in motion. This little female spent a lot of time on those limbs. While I was resting (between tarp shelter tasks), I talked to her and wished her safe travels. (Hummers are migrating South now.) ~~ The Hummingbirds have spent a lot of time on my flowers. Exactly why I planted Cape Honeysuckle, Butterfly Bush, Mandevilla, etc.!!

Can I construct a Bottle Tree? I have a heavy piece of PVC pipe in a cement base. While shifting garden stuff around, it occurred to me that I can drill holes and insert heavy-duty wire. One “limb” prepared. An interesting concept but late afternoon and I was too tired to continue.
