This old lady (almost eighty-eight) is so grateful for a reasonably good memory. This morning while “climbing the family tree,” I came across the name “Snavely” (and it isn’t one of the tried and true names in my database). I said to myself “I know that name” and I proceeded to document the sources. “I know that name” from thirty–three years ago when I documented (and published) the LaVerne Evergreen Cemetery in LaVerne, Los Angeles County, California. Isn’t that amazing? Even more amazing because more than three-thousand individuals are buried there. That was my introduction to the surnames of the Church of the Brethren and Old German Baptist Brethren families. My Frantz grandparents are buried there.
Have you noticed that “circle back” is a popular comment by the White House press secretary? Well, today I “circled back” to the Kinsey / Kinzie family that I referenced on October 14th. I didn’t plan it this way. My extended family is so entwined it is inevitable… but I didn’t expect it this soon. I’m going in circles with no end in sight. Seriously!
POSTSCRIPT @4:40 PM: I have completed some research documentation on Ancestry and everything appears to be operating “smooth as satin.” ~~ O’ happy day!!
Yesterday, I couldn’t find the desired item at Walmart. Perhaps my favorite market—drug store department—would have the item? No luck so I’ll have to order it online. I meandered the aisles; I lingered in the clearance area. Last year I purchased two sets of expensive patio lights and they are festive in my yard and attached to the carport. Here they are, almost half-price, so I grabbed them. Last year, I paid top dollar for timers that turn the lights on at dark and off at dawn. I latched on to seven timers that were less than half-price. I’ll share the lights, and timers, with neighbors because we will be decorating for Christmas in about five weeks. We hang the lights prior to… and turned them on Thanksgiving evening. I purchased some food items on sale. The shopping trip was enjoyable and good exercise for this old lady who spends too much time sitting at the computer. ~~ “Indulgences“: The past two days, I’ve been eating some very tasty food!!
I browsed every aisle and selected a number of items from the clearance area. In the grocery area, some canned goods not for sale at my grocery store of choice. Nothing has been accomplished beyond putting the groceries away.
I took a nap, and indulged in Blue Bell ice cream gratefully received (Saturday) from “Mr. Red,” owner-manager of this RV Park. Remember (?), I spent eleven hours “climbing the family tree” on Saturday. The ice cream and strawberries were (are) a delicious snack!! ~~ No “tree climbing” thus far today.
Have you noticed that “circle back” is a popular comment by the White House press secretary? Well, today I “circled back” to the Boone family that I referenced on October 5th. I didn’t plan it this way. My extended family is so entwined it is inevitable… but I didn’t expect it this soon. I’m going in circles with no end in sight. Seriously!
Eleven hours, yesterday, because I struck a gold mine of information and could not walk away. It started with the maiden name of my mother—“Showalter”—and connected to surnames on my father’s side—“Frantz.” Names and sources were effortless, I couldn’t stop!! With more than 80,000 individuals in my database, I’m very familiar with surnames–and the families associated with the surnames. Two women named Frances I. Wolf with similar birth years. Believe it or not, I “knew” there was a problem with dates for the wife of my fifth cousin. Born in Tennessee was wrong and launched the search… “Two women named Frances I. Wolf” and absolutely no relationship. Indubitably, I had to create images to direct future researchers to the correct information.
This image illustrates another problem and I don’t have an answer for this one. The Death Certificate has (in my humble opinion) listed an unknown woman as his mother.
Completely off-topic: I did not turn on the TV until early evening. That was extremely unusual for me. I was euphorically “mining gold.”
