“Life is like a box of chocolates…”

Incredibly, yesterday evening, “out of the blue” I stumbled over the name Anna Mary Frantz. Below, on the left, you see how little information I had. Several hours later, I can display a fullgrown tree. “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”

Anna Mary Frantz (1866-1962) is Lorraine’s second-cousin-three-times-removed.

Praising the Lord !!

This old lady (almost eighty-eight) is so grateful for a reasonably good memory. This morning while “climbing the family tree,” I came across the name “Snavely” (and it isn’t one of the tried and true names in my database). I said to myself “I know that name”  and I proceeded to document the sources. “I know that name” from thirtythree years ago when I documented (and published) the LaVerne Evergreen Cemetery in LaVerne, Los Angeles County, California. Isn’t that amazing? Even more amazing because more than three-thousand individuals are buried there. That was my introduction to the surnames of the Church of the Brethren and Old German Baptist Brethren families. My Frantz grandparents are buried there.

Ditto: Going in circles

Have you noticed that “circle back” is a popular comment by the White House press secretary? Well, today I “circled back” to the Kinsey / Kinzie family that I referenced on October 14th. I didn’t plan it this way. My extended family is so entwined it is inevitable… but I didn’t expect it this soon. I’m going in circles with no end in sight. Seriously!

Day mare!!

I’m having computer problems and I don’t know how to fix them!!

I’ve tried everythingto the best of my knowledge. Frankly, this is an experiment. **IF** I’m able to create, save and publish this blog message, I may be on the road to restoration. ~~ Long story short: Last night I attempted to help a cousin with his computer Ancestry problems and, true story, my cursor wouldn’t move (I’m an editor on his family tree). This morning, I was having the “my cursor wouldn’t move”  problem. I rebootedcorrection: tried to rebootbut nothing happened. Perhaps “cousin” has a virus and I caught it?

POSTSCRIPT @4:40 PM: I have completed some research documentation on Ancestry and everything appears to be operating “smooth as satin.”  ~~ O’ happy day!!

Indulgences !!

The doctor made me do it!! I had to drive to the pharmacy for another prescription. Only two pills and only twenty-eight cents!! One pill tonight and one pill at 7:00 tomorrow morning. Then back to the clinic tomorrow morning for another EKG.

Yesterday, I couldn’t find the desired item at Walmart. Perhaps my favorite marketdrug store departmentwould have the item? No luck so I’ll have to order it online. I meandered the aisles; I lingered in the clearance area. Last year I purchased two sets of expensive patio lights and they are festive in my yard and attached to the carport. Here they are, almost half-price, so I grabbed them. Last year, I paid top dollar for timers that turn the lights on at dark and off at dawn. I latched on to seven timers that were less than half-price. I’ll share the lights, and timers, with neighbors because we will be decorating for Christmas in about five weeks. We hang the lights prior to… and turned them on Thanksgiving evening. I purchased some food items on sale. The shopping trip was enjoyable and good exercise for this old lady who spends too much time sitting at the computer. ~~ Indulgences: The past two days, I’ve been eating some very tasty food!!

POSTSCRIPT on October 20th: For some strange reason, this post wasn’t published “the other day.” ~~ “Better late than never?”

Out-of-the-ordinary day

.

First event: A trip to the doctor’s office for an EKG. It was the first of four… scheduled for this week. It has to do with new medication to ward off A-Fib. Second: A haircut because the shop is within walking distance of the Clinic. Third: Shopping at Walmart because it is about one-quarter mile from the clinic. “They” didn’t have the two specific items on my list. I browsed every aisle and selected a number of items from the clearance area. In the grocery area, some canned goods not for sale at my grocery store of choice. Nothing has been accomplished beyond putting the groceries away. I took a nap, and indulged in Blue Bell ice cream gratefully received (Saturday) from “Mr. Red,” owner-manager of this RV Park. Remember (?), I spent eleven hours “climbing the family tree” on Saturday. The ice cream and strawberries were (are) a delicious snack!! ~~ No “tree climbing” thus far today.
