In Livingston, Texas, we don’t have a wide selection of retail stores. (Our Walmart closed many months ago!!) Shopping on-line is so convenient. The last couple of days, I’ve searched (on-line) for camouflage tarps. I have one (from last year’s shelter) but my new larger shelter will require one tarp each direction. I found TarpsPlus.com and like their prices. Moments ago, I completed an order and eagerly await the arrival (within ten days). Before Halloween, I should be able to start moving plants–and clutter–under cover.

Long-time residents tell me “Expect our first frost around Halloween.” How does one wrap their head around ninety degree temperatures (and humidity) in early October and frost at the end of the month??
