“Two Aleve” day !!

Temperature at seven-forty

Temperature at one-forty

Between the pictures documenting time and temperature, I managed to fall (again)  and have a rug burn and bruises. Clumsy old lady!! However, I “limped” into Livingston to check out Center of Hope Open House. I’ll be volunteering there (if I don’t break my neck)?! The picture shows two CARE residents and two CARE volunteers. If everyone from Escapees Rainbow’s End RV Park and CARE were included, it would be a sizable group. Heart-warming to see such an enthusiastic response. ~~ Before returning home (to take two Aleve), I dropped donations off at The Oasis Resale Shop.

Weather whiplash !!

Temperature at two PMwhiplash-road-signYesterday, ninety-one; today TV meteorologist said a stretch to reach seventy degrees. Yesterday, some folks used air-conditioning; today, yours truly is using the furnace (and wearing a sweater)!! Yesterday, unseasonably warm weather in the northeast; today snow (portrayed on the NBC Today Show).

Which is more painful?

Root canal or downsizing??

Dumpster

Thrift 'n Gift

Temperature at one-thirtyA friend made major decisions for me today!! Most of the things I thought **might** have some value (offered “free”) were deemed obsolete (computer stuff), or undesirable for my local RV community. Dozens (yes, dozens) of items went into the dumpster. Scarcely less than a dozen things went on the “free” table in the activity center of Escapees Rainbow’s End RV Park. “Friend” says  we’ll continue tomorrow.

Wicked Wednesday !!

thermometerTemperature at two PM“Wickedly” hot!!

You won’t find me turning on the air-conditioner in early February!! ~~ I spent an hour watering my large planters. With a good “drink of water” and bright sunshine, I’ll have lots of new growth soon?!

Two steps forward, three steps back !!

Three steps back

Yours truly had shifted into second gear working on her downsizing project. Everything looked good for the hours and days ahead. There was expectation that items would sell–or be given away “free”–to interested neighbors. I’d spent hours preparing advertisements subsequently sent to the RV Park email.  “Too frequent [messages posted], too many pictures,” etc. Reading the rejection forced me into neutral. I’m depressed and discouraged!! (Everything “free” or “make offer”!! )

Empty storage unitLast of my things removed from the adjacent storage unit. Hours spent in my yard sorting through boxes!! The temperature was beautiful from dawn to dusk!! Super Saturday !!

super-saturdayAnother dark gloomy day, weather-wise, but a “super” day for me. I heard from a long-time-ago friend. timothy-s-binkley“Tim” was working at the Brethren Heritage Center, Brookville, Ohio, the summer of 2004. I had traveled (in my Class B mini-motorhome) to the area to visit family and do genealogical research. I volunteered at the Center/Archives/Library all summer learning from this talented professional archivist. (My mini-motorhome parked, day and night, outside the back door.) It was such a rewarding experience, I returned to Lancaster, California, packed my belongings, sold my home, and moved to Brookville!! Some of the boxes shown in recent pictures are boxes of family history packed in Lancaster, in 2004. I would probably have a heart attack if I calculated the amount of money spent on storage fees over the years.

Yours truly planned to make Brookville, Ohio, her “forever home,” and BHC her forever volunteer job. Can a person be “too ardent, too enthusiastic”? Whatever the reason… several moves, and several volunteer jobs later, I arrived (as a volunteer) at CARE. I stayed on as a resident. When we have another pleasant day–weather-wise–I’ll shift more boxes from the neighbor’s storage building to my patio and tarp shelter. (She decided to move… and new neighbors need every inch….) Giving up my storage unit (down the highway) to save money was an obvious mistake!! ~~ (I’m not complaining!!)
