New water filter pitcher

For four decades, I’ve used distilled or filtered water. In the early years, we owned a distiller and used that exclusively. “Trailer living” dictates something smaller, and portable. Recently, in a blog “professional”  health newsletter, I read about the TuraPur Hydrogen Water Pitcher. Subsequent to my purchase, I’ve found negative reviews on the Internet. However, I’m going to anticipate the advertised benefits.

Here is one review worth reading. Download an ebook about Simple Steps to Optimum Health.

Recap….

Seven-hundred twenty-five dollar (+/-) day!! Supplements at CVS cost $200.00 (OMG!!); groceries cost $100.00. Bird seed–and paid the rent–account for the additional expense. Correction: Non-“supplement” after-Christmas mark-down items purchased (from CVS) for New Year’s Eve party AND  “thank you”  gifts. (Cashews, and pistachios, are “pure gold” [price-wise]!!)

Not clairvoyant !!

Looked in my crystal ball and saw the image of a person reading my blog–a person in Shelby, North Carolina. Sadly, my crystal ball is experiencing cyber-space interference and yours truly only sees fog. As a former resident of Shelby, North Carolina, I’m curious which of my friends is out of sight (but not out of mind). Loved my volunteer and employment experience with Hallelujah Acres!!

Wishing you a very Happy Healthy New Year!!

Would if I could ?!

Yesterday, on NBC Today show, the viewer was introduced to The Minimalists.” The concept is inviting **but** the “90 day” recommendation abruptly stops me. OMG!! I have kitchen stuff I haven’t used for years **but** “I might need it someday.”  I have outdoor tools I seldom use **but** “I might need them some day.”  Furthermore: Clothes I haven’t worn for years **but** “I might [eventually] have an opportunity for ‘new’ and ‘different’?”

For more than one year, I experienced “minimum” while I was traveling with my Tab Teardrop Trailer. “MINIMUM”  was “do-able”–and I had such a sense of freedom. **But** I knew my treasures were eventually retrievable from PODS storage.

In my cargo trailer: Boxes packed in 2004 (or before), in Lancaster, California, and unopened since then!! There are many boxes of genealogy awaiting the scanning project (and upload to website titled Digitized Library of Family History). I was making headway, in 2017, until the rude, cruel, emotionally devastating eviction from the CARE Center. Because I haven’t “gotten settled” (in 2018) the scanning project was abandoned. (Because I haven’t “gotten settled”  at this address [too much stuff] I buried my frustration and depression “doing” family history on Ancestry.com.)

Yesterday was Christmas and the day started with fog, then gray and gloomy. I turned to my computer (my “pacifier”) and started this message. Then, the sudden urge to tackle all the extra clothes in my closet, and hanging over the bed.

Too spicy !!

Lorraine doesn’t “do” hot and spicy!! Recently, the purchase of “medium” restaurant style salsa. “Too hot!!”  It went into the freezer for future use. Yesterday, it went into a large kettle with one-pound organic black beans, one cup organic brown rice, and six cups of water. In my humble opinion, sixteen ounces of salsa should get “lost” with beans and rice (simply the seasoning). However, the “soupy” broth is so hot it burns my mouth and throat!! ~~ This illustrates my propensity to “save” and use (or save and recycle). It never occurred to me to throw away the salsa. (Waste not, want not.)

Baa humbug ??

The worst time of year for me!! From Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve, the emphasis is on family and festivities. I have neither; my family rejected “the old lady.”  Praise be to God, I have friends who “care” for me. A lady-friend paid for expensive furnace repair. Another friend (couple) took notice of my fondness for my Slanket.”  Look at their thoughtful gift. Computer glasses  because another friend is sympathetic to my vision/computer screen frustration. No less significant, a friend loaned her battery charger. Another friend contributed two beautiful blue bottles for my “Bottle Tree.”  Greetings and well-wishes from across the nation.

‘Twas the day before Christmas…

…and inside the trailer:

Oatmeal for breakfast, after good night’s sleep!! Old lady eager to go outdoors in pleasant weather and approach multiple projects.

While at my computer, with a great view of street, watching for mail-person. A Christmas package due for delivery.
