Home again after twenty-two hours at the home of the owners-managers. The power was “out” at their home but they have a wonderful propane heater that doesn’t operate with a fan. My propane furnace depends on electricity to circulate the air. I look at the weather situation as a “God-sent blessing.” I was able to visit with my host and hostess “face to face.” I’ve been isolated for so long, “visiting” was therapy for this depressed old lady!! Honestly, I shouldn’t say “God-sent blessing” because many deaths AND COMPLETE LOSS OF THE ORANGES CROP!! The freeze this year will also affect next year’s crop. ~~ “A friend of the Park” had a major traffic accident near the RV Park and it “totaled” his pickup truck and he was in the hospital.
Sneaking pictures in while I have power. My trailer home is warm because I’m running the propane furnace at 70 degrees. Previously, I was relying on the space heaters because I don’t know how much propane remains in the tank. With these freezing temperatures, I think it’s important to heat the trailer before the next “blackout.” ~~ This morning, I retrieved the old, neglected radio–and batteries. ~~ I’m so glad I purchased all sizes of batteries on my previous shopping trip. I’m grateful that I took the time, several weeks ago, to reprogram the indoor-outdoor thermometer. I like to know the temperature.
During the night, I had a “trickle of water” from my faucets. I didn’t anticipate frozen pipes during the day. ~~ I may not be able to sleep but I’m heading to bed at 8:00 PM. (The one place that is warm.) It’s so cold in my trailer home… but I’m not complaining. I have containers of water, and lots of food. I sympathize with the homeless. The TV news reported The Salvation Army does not have sufficient space for the street people.
