“Lorraine in Wonderland”
Saturday, July 18th, 2020 (yesterday) was the best day all year!! Seriously, no exaggeration! At nine in the morning, we were enjoying coffee on the patio, under beautiful old trees. (“Trees” by Joyce Kilmer.) It was remarkably pleasant with “nature’s air-conditioning.”
I have a new neighbor and she and I have identical interests. (Seriously, no exaggeration!) I was thrilled to learn she is an avid gardener. I’m ecstatically happy to give her my overabundance of garden paraphernalia.
“Monica” and I have experienced similar life experiences. We praise our Heavenly Father for bringing us to “this little corner of Heaven.” Our yards are unique because they are linked by a gate.
Energized by conversation (and coffee), I returned to my home and Monica surged forward with the task of personalizing her yard.
The day got better when our RV Park owner-manager showed up with “the best burgers in Texas.” High noon and high heat but very comfortable under those huge old trees. Five folks fun around the picnic table!! Interaction with the residents is (was) the best medicine for my depression.
.
A strong, considerate resident to my rescue. He helped me roll the Garden Tower(s) across the grass to their new home.

Mixed message, three stories: 1) Alice in Wonderland, 2) Wizard of Oz, and 3) “Lorraine in Wonderland.”
Better than a vitamin B-12 injection ?
That title came to mind as a humorous way to explain my exuberance with my new friend, Monica. But I’m a “researcher” so I wanted to read about vitamin B-12 before I made the comparison. Here is the website I visited and was stunned by what I read. **I don’t go to doctors** but it sounds like I am a candidate for B-12 shots.
Four hours sitting in my neighbor’s back yard where several residents enjoyed a delicious salad lunch.

Ten years ago…
…I was traveling in our beautiful New England states. See where I was ten years ago. A “cool” experience!!
Human “being” human
This is a “normal” day for the first time in many months. #1) A good night’s sleep!! Ten PM until 5:30 AM. Out of bed briefly than back to bed and back to sleep until seven-thirty. #2) Because I was going next-door for coffee (with a brand-new resident neighbor lady), I dressed in a pretty outfit and added earrings. #3) Washed my face and brushed my teeth. #4) We were joined by two other residents—for coffee and conversation. No masks but safe distancing. The fellowship was so uplifting. #5) Grocery shopping was suggested and I confessed too few trips the last four months and too much anxiety about leaving home. How could I say “no” when I was appropriately dressed for an outing? #6) An extremely excellent-quality mask, with filter, just arrived in the mail and it was begging for an audience. (It is another gift from my dear friend, Deb, who has been encouraging me to “venture out.”) #7) $200.00 shopping spree at the wonderful H.E.B-Plus market four miles from home. #8) Home at 2:00 (just in time to watch Dr. Oz) and prepare a home-made wonderful lunch. ~~ Lots of hours left in the day so I can continue being human.

#9, 10, 11) P.S. I didn’t climb “the family tree.”

Alive at five
Wide awake and inspired with a new idea. I’d make a crossword puzzle with the surnames found in my Ancestry family tree. This is just my “exploration” creation. Think how much fun I’ll have with one-hundred names (or more). “Alive at five” with a “hair brain idea.”
Do you agree that this is a novel way to illustrate the intricately interwoven families?
