Happy almost Friday

Today, TV and Wi-Fi service will be installed.

I have a serious question rattling around in my brain. Could all my computer and TV viewing (screen time) interfere with my sleep?? Nine days now without television, eight days without major Wi-Fi. I’ve been sleeping better here than a year there. I’ll see if my sleeplessness returns when I spend hours on Ancestry.com. I hope and pray that my wonderful, refreshing sleep is due to less stress.

Tomorrow, Friday, the RV Park serves waffles for breakfast. I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed a waffle. I’m looking forward to Friday!!

Week in review #1

Some TV broadcasters might say “Week in Review.”  I’ll borrow that term for display of my pictures from December 31, 2019, through January 9, 2020. I’ll let the pictures tell the story; I may not add commentary. Because more than one-hundred pictures, I’m posting them in “thumbnail” size and you can click on each one to enlarge for better viewing.

Praise report !!

Please allow me to sing praises for my new home. Although I am in an RV Park, my residence can be compared to a house or apartment. I have a flush toilet so no more “dumping” the black water tank on the trailer. I have a large side-by-side refrigerator-freezer and a washer and dryer. No more driving to the laundry room at Rainbow’s End because my landlady locked me out of the laundry room where I paid for the electricity. I haven’t heard a single negative comment about the exorbitant number lawn and garden paraphernalia. (My landlady cursed my plants and planters! Never a kind word out of her mouth.)  I have to pinch myself (occasionally) to verify that I am awake and not dreaming. ~~ I am assured there will be a helper when I need someone to help me reorganize the storage building. Sadly, I couldn’t hire help in Livingston, Texas. I would have paid generously for assistance!! ~~ Another thing I’m thankful for: There are two Panera within easy driving distance!! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!

Greetings from Ms. Dolittle

Yup, “do little.” Thousands of projects… and “the old lady” rests more than working. No twinges of conscience however because “she earned it” (rest). It was a stressful month (preparing for and accomplishing the move)! No pictures yet because I am using my second, newer computer because it has a better built-in WiFi antenna. Pictures, on the other hand, are uploaded to my old computer. I’ve highjacked someone else’s WiFi signal because they neglected to make their service password protected. My service will be installed on Thursday morning between ten and eleven o’clock.

If I had access to my clipart, I would have a picture of a man with a megaphone. Shout into a megaphone and you get everyone’s attention?! Well, I want to shout so everyone can hear this praise report: I have been getting ten, eleven, and twelve hours of sleep each night. It’s a miracle?

The folks here in this small RV Park are very friendly–and helpful. A young man carried my new (Best Buy) TV from the car to my living room. Also a chair I purchased at Bed, Bath & Beyond. The chair was originally priced at $79.99 and marked down several times to $10.99. A very heavy folding chair with a black metal framework and black padded back and seat. It matches my “easy chair” that is a black metal “glider” with black padded back and seat. (TV service will be installed [with WiFi] on Thursday morning.)

I could be preparing to walk about one-hundred steps to the clubhouse for coffee with other residents. I “could” but I’ll continue to write this blog message. Residents gather for coffee at eight o’clock. Yesterday, they told me which TV-WiFi company to use.

I finally ignored Amazon and went to Walmart (website) as I researched TVs, etc., etc. From Walmart, I went to Wayfair and ultimately ordered two items from them (first time  I’ve even visited their website). The purchase wouldn’t complete so I called and a nice lady helped me. With 20/20 hindsight I now know why I had a problem with a new TV provider and Wayfair. My Chase credit card was blocking the purchases because of my address change!! Hallelujah, their security is working very well!! (Amazon wouldn’t let me change my password so I couldn’t log-in so they missed the opportunity to get my money. Perhaps Amazon security is “too tight”?)

As the reader will see when I publish my pictures, the temperature begins with thirty degrees in the morning and reaches a very pleasant eighty-five degrees in the afternoon. I’ve enjoyed beautiful sunshiney days. Sometimes just sitting in my glider easy-chair, looking out the double sliding doors at the beautiful sunshine–and traffic on Highway 84. (I’m far enough away so the traffic is not annoying.)

**If** I had access to my clipart (lol), I would close with the image we used to see at the end of many movies: “That’s all folks.”

“Wayfair you have just what I need.”

Have you seen and heard that TV commercial? Yesterday was my first visit to Wayfair (and my first purchase). Today I received an email “ad” with items on sale. Oh, what fun to browse the sale items. I can see where Wayfair  could become addictive. I only need two more items to satisfy my “needs” so I should refrain from browsing their website?! Hey, this saves me a trip to Walmart  or a variety of other stores.

God is so-o-o-o good !!!

Just a brief message to tell my friends and viewers that I am comfortable in my new home in Waco, Texas.  An enormous number of projects await my attention but I can approach them a few at a time. At first, no TV and no Internet. I found my old radio (in the storage area) and found a Christian radio station. Hallelujah!! A few minutes ago I decided to pick up my laptop computer and check for Internet service and see if something available that doesn’t require a password. “Yes,” I found such a service and here I am again praising my Heavenly Father for meeting my needs (and my desires). Hallelujah!!

Greetings, best wishes, happy healthy New Year!!

God is very, very good !!!

My Heavenly Father protected me on a frightening trip!! Earlier today, I searched for a Best Buy in Waco and transferred the address to my Garmin GPS. A “white knuckle” trip going and coming!! My Garmin is almost ten years old and extremely slow with verbal directions. Traffic was heavy!! Wow, Best Buy is in a shopping center with several dozen stores. For the first time in more than six years, I was seeing Bed, Bath & Beyond, Marshalls, World Market, Office Depot, and dozens of clothing stores. I really thought I’d died and gone to Heaven when I found a Panera. I LOVE PANERA!! I enjoyed their wonderful baked potato soup and baguette. I browsed half-a-dozen stores and made a couple of small purchases before returning to Best Buy for the purchase of a television set. Frankly, I need a TV before I contact DISH for installation. This “old” Park model trailer has a very small area designated for a TV set. I expect modification will be needed to get a TV set “set up.” ~~ I considered an “over the air” antenna but the salesman discouraged me saying I wouldn’t get very good reception from Dallas. I had the impression the salesman didn’t want to bother with “this old lady” and her questions. I’ll do some Internet searches because (for four years) I had adequate reception from Houston to Livingston (eighty-five or ninety miles). Dallas is much closer?! Here is an Internet search for the distance between Waco and Dallas:

Distance from Waco, TX to Dallas, TX – Travelmath The total driving distance from Waco, TX to Dallas, TX is 97 miles. The total straight line flight distance from Waco, TX to Dallas, TX is 87 miles.

I’ll check Channel Master TV antennas (for the first time in six years). I’ll search Google for the best way to “set up” the TV in the small space. I had my own idea about “mounting” but the Best Buy salesman didn’t agree with my plan. C’est la vie.

Pictures (dozens of pictures) at a later date.

Frustrated with Amazon !!

For two hours (or more) I have been struggling with Amazon. Hey, security is important but “they” won’t let me sign in. I’ve tried new passwords; I’ve contacted their “help.” ~~ I don’t have access to my clipart or you would see a picture of a woman pulling her hair and screaming. ~~ It has been a long, strenuous day so I’ll go to bed and try to resolve the problem(s) tomorrow.

P.S. I clicked away from Amazon and searched Walmart.
