What would you do ??

The neighbor hung flags on the pole in my front yard. I asked if he was going to take the flags down each night “according to flag etiquette” or position a spot light. He said he doesn’t care about etiquette!! He was “doing” because his step-mother was nagging at him. ~~ With the flag pole on my side of the yard,  everyone driving by, or walking by, will think I’m the person disrespecting the flag!!

Step-son/neighbor drove into Livingston, to Lowes, and returned with the solar light. I’m amazed; I’m delighted!!

.

Surprise, surprise !!

While searching the Internet for prices of plants, and planters, I saw “my” picture. Maybe the reader will see same if they click this link. (No guarantee with web sites.) ~~’Twas early morning, while I enjoyed my coffee, a preliminary price list. If a customer challenges my yard sale prices, I can suggest they shop at Lowes and pay twice as much and half the size. Doing my “home work,” 🙂  Speaking of… almost the entire day working (outdoors) around home. “Blew” away leaves with the Worx blower, vacuum, mulcher. Hosed the patio, and carport, again. Every day, a new layer of yellow pollen on everything. Moved more items to the carport and set up a couple of displays.

Rude awakening !!

Yesterday was so warm, I turned the furnace “off.” When I awakened this morning, my trailer home was cold. I turned the furnace “on” and went back to bed. About ten minutes later I was forced to get out of my warm bed to determine why I was hearing a loud “beep.” For the first time while living in my trailer home, the propane detector light had changed from green to yellow–and the piercing “beep.” I turned the furnace “off,” opened a window, and started the ceiling fan. Eight o’clock and beeping continues.

.

Yours truly pushed–and held–the button and it cycled from yellow to green–and beeping stopped. ~~ Earlier, I reached out (via email) to a dear lady-friend and she sent video instructions. (Thanks Debra.) Quite possibly, the unit failed due to “old age” (fifteen years old). ~~ “Old age”  takes a toll on body and equipment!!

.

Here is a link with the absolute answer to my experience. It’s almost ten o’clock and I’m “on the Internet” shopping for carbon monoxide detector replacement.

As previously stated…

…pollen count is extremely high. Look at my car.

.

Pollen isn’t a problem with the bird bath/fountain. I am bleaching and washing away green and black algae stains. ~~ I love that fountain!! Furthermore, the squirrels and birds love it, too. But it is solid cement, in five sections, and bottom three sections are too heavy for me to handle. “Bye bye Birdie”  bath.

Hours in the yard

.

If I weren’t so tired, I’d drive into Livingston for some “comfort food.” You’ve heard that lament before!! I’m heating some previously prepared, frozen, “good stuff.”

.

Yes, I have two “Tower Gardens.” Both are on caster dollies. I’m unable to display them side-by-side because impossible for one person (me) to navigate over those cement stepping-stones. There is a six-inch drop from patio level to carport level and one person can’t “drop it down” all-by-themself. I’ll gladly pay (handsomely) for a handyman but they are scarce.  ~~ I believe I can repair the greenhouse but unable to remove the cover all-by-myself.

Outdoor activities

With pleasant weather, I’m inching closer to the proposed yard sale. At this time, we are dealing with thick tree pollen on everything. “Everything” will need a bath before the sale!! ~~ Hopefully the pleasant weather will promote lush growth on all those plants intended for new homes. ~~ This is destined to be an authentic “yard sale” (displays in the yard and on the driveway) because I’m unable to set up in the carport (for reasons out of my control and [likely] of no interest to the reader). ~~ It’s “only” 7:20 PM but I’m eager to head to bed; fresh air and exercise wore me out.

Hoppin’ mad !!!

Even my relatives can’t accurately document the family!! I arrived at Benjamin Franklin Traxler via a circuitous route. I was climbing a different branch of the tree and found an individual who was buried in the LaVerne Evergreen Cemetery in LaVerne, Los Angeles County, California. So I did a detour to add details about the book I published (1989) with the title LaVerne Evergreen Cemetery Tombstone Inscriptions. That prompted me to add the information to my grandparents (who [indirectly] prompted me to prepare the publication). While working with Grandma (Traxler) Frantz, my eye caught “Benjamin Franklin Traxler.” I thought: “Hum, that’s not right.”  Her brother was Benjamin Harrison Traxler. I rushed head-long into accurate descriptions. “Descriptions” meant pictures. The sad truth: There were a dozen Ancestry Member Family Trees with the wrong information. “They” copied… and I suspect “they” didn’t even read the details about the individuals. If I had a dollar for every mistake I’ve corrected, I’d be rich!! (LOL)  🙂Â
