Break time ?

Tired, and hungry, “yours truly”  came indoors and prepared lunch. This message “prepared” while enjoying lunch. Absolutely nothing done toward the yard sale; 100% of time spent on “yard work.”

.

.

Hundreds of people live here at Escapees Rainbow’s End RV Park. Dozens of people walk past my yard every day. One gentleman commented and gave me this interesting bit of information. “Sprinkle rice, or oatmeal, and it is just as effective. Less expensive.”

Nap time?!

Wrap up !!

More projects in the yard this afternoon–but no pictures. OMG, today (heat wise) is an early example of summer heat and humidity. I was in the sunshine, in the eighty-nine degrees temperature. Now I’m in the “hot-house.” I hate to start using air-conditioning this early in the year.

Capturing a storm ?!

A sudden thunderstorm “killed” DISH satellite TV and HUGHES satellite Internet. I hoped I could “capture” the hard rain in a picture so continued to click. A few worthwhile images? The motion detector lights stayed on because the garden flags were waving in the wind. This was “a different picture-taking experience.” Question: Will the rain clear the pollen out of the air? ~~ Loss of TV reception robbed me of last few minutes of Genius Junior and Timeless. Did you see Little Big Shots? Those kids are fantastic!!

.

“Going…” but not “green”

Check this “recycled” blog message. No “costume” this year. Old blue jeans and a ragged T-shirt are my customary apparel of late. ~~ Reaching back a few years, Saint Patrick’s Day 2013, and the topic is about birds and backyard beauty.

I’ll attend a “celebration of life”  service for the co-founder of local Hip-2-Be-Square square dance club. A “celebration”  followed by a square dance!! (Sorry, we can’t enlarge the 2015 picture.because from another source.)

Wide awake — at four !!

This is unacceptable?! Wide awake when I want to be sound asleep!! Night after night (and I’m opposed to sleeping pills). Just a few pictures but first two are interesting (to me). See the vast difference in temperature in twenty-four hours .

.

Hottest day of the year !!

Eighty-four degrees in Houston and identified by TV meteorologist as “the hottest day of the year.”  So I quickly checked my indoor/outdoor thermometer and the sensor in my yard identified ninety-one degrees.  However, I did not spend one minute outdoors today.  There were other projects on my “to do” list.

Attitude of gratitude !!

.

Fantastic unusual  Friday!! For several days, I’ve planned to “take a break” from work at home and drive into Livingston, to Walmart, for a haircut. (My hair was long and unattractive.*) Arrival time: 11:30; departure time: 1:50. Yes, an extremely l-o-n-g  wait!! Conversation developed between the half-a-dozen eventual customers. When eventually my turn, I learned the gentleman I’d been visiting with (long gone) had paid for my haircut. What an extremely kind gesture by a new acquaintance–a Christian gentleman!!

THANK YOU, BILL FORWARD**!!

After some casual conversation, he said “You’re from the Escapees Park.” (A statement, not a question.) I stammered “How did you know?  I didn’t say anything to indicate I live there.” He said “You don’t sound like someone from around these parts.” Then he shared with me that his wife had been “in charge” at the CARE Center. “When was that? More than four years ago?” Indeed, many years ago. OMG; you would not believe the “dirty laundry” about the CARE Center!!

* For several years, I was a faithful customer for the barber/stylist who sets up his equipment, at CARE,  every Thursday morning. Faithful customer… generous tipper….!!

** He shared his name and phone number with me because he suggested he would have been a valuable ally when I appeared in court regarding the eviction. He regrets I did not appeal the decision.

Getting organized ?!

Slowly, very slowly. OMG, why do I have so many extension cords? Why so many hooks (various sizes and shapes)? “Like” item with “like” item. “A place for everything and everything in its place.” ~~ I’ve always had my own private “hardware store” but the recent move threw everything in chaos!! Slowly, very slowly, I’m getting re-organized.
