“Oh would some Power the gift give us, to see ourselves as others see us.”

Breaks my heart to read the negative comments on Facebook. I loved Escapees CARE and planned for it to be “my forever home.”  I had (and still have) a genuine fondness for the residents–“my family.”

The words of poet, Robert Burns, are racing around-and-around in my mind. “Oh would some Power the gift give us, to see ourselves as others see us.”

George J. ReznicekGeorge J. Reznicek For good reasons. Tell the truth, Lorain. You got yourself evicted.
Doris WilsonDoris Wilson Lorraine, I feel very sorry for you but not in the way you would like me to. I’m sure you remember when we moved in. We were there two days, you came over and introduced yourself and then started with all the negatives you had in your mind about Care, Russ and several of the people we should “watch” out for. I’m sure we were not the only new residents that received the same info. We disregarded your information because day by day and week by week we realized how fortunate we were to be living there. Please try to start out the New Year with a different opinion of yourself and look for the good in your life, your surroundings and friends. Sincere Best Wishes to you.
Marjorie Neufeld SchinkeMarjorie Neufeld Schinke Lorraine By the way, you were NOT evicted at Christmas! You were evicted in October and given till November 30 to move. You were the one who stalled and took it to court and drug the whole thing out till you finally had your rig moved just before Christmas! You are trying in every way possible to make Escapees Care look bad but it’s not going to work. You have swayed a few people because you slant the story to make yourself look good. You don’t tell the whole story. As long as I’ve known you, you have been a complainer and I’ve tried to tell you that thankful people overcome and get more favor and further in life. It seems like you are a like Jekyll and Hyde, Many days you put positive things and religious things on your blog and then today you put a zinger like this! I pray for you to learn to walk in love, forgiveness, and thanksgiving. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 NKJV in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Lois WilsonLois Wilson Lorraine, it’s such a shame that you’re not able to tell the whole truth. You only tell what you want others to know. I feel certain that your current neighbors & people who have believed you will see the “real you” very soon. I wish you the best in the coming New Year and only hope that you finally realize that problems you have are NOT always another person’s fault. Everyone must answer for their own short comings, including yourself! God Bless you.
Anita Mandot HickmanAnita Mandot Hickman Why not be honest and tell the truth based on what actually happened. You brought this all on yourself with your constant whining and complaining. Hopefully you’ll be much happier eating you own food, cleaning your own rig, changing your own bed, doing your own laundry, taking care of your own black water and fresh water tanks, keeping up the site around your rig and doing all the other things that CARE staff members and volunteers did for you. And please enjoy your “freedom” from CARE rules, regulations and helpful volunteers. I, for one, look forward to hearing of your newfound happiness!
Deb DlugoszDeb Dlugosz Did Care staff do all that for her? I don’t think so. It’s an interesting point about telling one side of the story; isn’t that what everyone does when there is a dispute? They see it from their own perspective. And each side thinks everyone else should believe them. She did stall the eviction, but the eviction itself did take place at Christmas. I’m sorry it had to take place at all. Constant complaining? Boy, I bet nursing homes and hospitals wished they could kick people out for complaining. It’d sure make their life a lot easier, wouldn’t it? I do think she will be happier away from there. But you guys are a tough crowd, lol. Somebody ought to take the knife out of her back. You might need it again.
Marjorie Neufeld SchinkeMarjorie Neufeld Schinke They didn’t do all those things for Lorraine because she chose to do many of them herself but the services were available. It was more than just complaining. Yes we all have that right and that’s not what got her evicted. I wish her well and just want her to move on and be happy. Blessing on you.

There is truth in some of their comments: I only told part of the story. Here is a gem of truth “they” didn’t hear from the Facility Director. To exercise his power over the residents, eager to make an example of me, he paid the first three months rent at my new location. “Benevolent?”  I don’t think so! If concerned about my welfare, have a pleasant conversation affirming that I’ve been a “low maintenance” resident, faithfully paid her rent, and an active participant. “We don’t want to hear any more complaints.”  Instead, sitting in his office, when attempting to negotiate an amicable solution, the Director said “Go ahead, exhaust your resources, we’ll win.”  (“…exhaust your resources” a reference to fighting the eviction in Court.) Despite my steadfast declaration “I don’t want to move,”  the Director paid two men $280.00 to move my things off the Escapees CARE Center RV site. ~~ Indeed, there is much more to the story.
