Breaks my heart to read the negative comments on Facebook. I loved Escapees CARE and planned for it to be “my forever home.” I had (and still have) a genuine fondness for the residents–“my family.”
The words of poet, Robert Burns, are racing around-and-around in my mind. “Oh would some Power the gift give us, to see ourselves as others see us.”

There is truth in some of their comments: I only told part of the story. Here is a gem of truth “they” didn’t hear from the Facility Director. To exercise his power over the residents, eager to make an example of me, he paid the first three months rent at my new location. “Benevolent?” I don’t think so! If concerned about my welfare, have a pleasant conversation affirming that I’ve been a “low maintenance” resident, faithfully paid her rent, and an active participant. “We don’t want to hear any more complaints.” Instead, sitting in his office, when attempting to negotiate an amicable solution, the Director said “Go ahead, exhaust your resources, we’ll win.” (“…exhaust your resources” a reference to fighting the eviction in Court.) Despite my steadfast declaration “I don’t want to move,” the Director paid two men $280.00 to move my things off the Escapees CARE Center RV site. ~~ Indeed, there is much more to the story.
