Downsizing ?? Not !!
This morning, I dragged home a pallet. Remember, every time we have a hard rain, I am surrounded by “Lake Lorraine.” Many things (boxes, etc.) are elevated several inches off the ground. Eventually, the pallet will go into the tarp shelter but that is weeks (months?) away. First, I need to process all the boxes (genealogy, etc., etc.).
Wiggle room only !!

When the new scanner arrives, and I start the MONSTER project, I’ll need another surface. Recently, I approached retailers selling antiques, and collectibles, hoping to find a new home for my Mother’s ironing board. It is older than “yours truly”!! This morning, bright idea: Use it for the much-needed surface.
.
When I say “wiggle room only,” see how little space for my secretary chair, and comfortable glider chair.
Oh well, lots of sacrifices for this scanning project. I won’t have much time for the gardening projects I love.
Not a moment too soon ?!
Creating another surface was simple compared to set-up of the new scanner. No instructions included!! I drew upon decades of computer/printer experience and did quite well (imho). Surprise: I was forced into the purchase of software that I believed was included with the scanner. Added inconvenience: CARE WiFi signal disappeared and several hours lapsed before software was downloaded. (Likewise, unable to prepare and publish this blog message.)
Note that initial installation of software started at 4:12. Three hours later and I still do not have accessible software!! (Gratefully, I have WiFi.) Tomorrow I’ll search for a manual on-line (or maybe as soon as I publish this message [7:15]).
Postscript at 7:25 PM: I’ve found “help” under HELP. I’m off to a good start,
Postscript at 8:00 PM: Would you believe I had to go to the Internet for drivers for the scanner??
Postscript at 9:20 PM: Success!!
Whatchadoin ?
Someone said they saw a Hummingbird. I countered “It’s too early!” The “someone” was adamant she saw a Hummingbird. I checked the migration map and note there were a couple of sighting in extremely south Texas. This morning I prepared nectar, and washed the feeders (previously put away clean feeders but worth another dunking). ~~ Also pulled weeds and filled the “other birds” feeders.
See an earlier blog message regarding nectar and feeders.
Whatcha eatin ??
“The Shack”
Have you seen the movie The Shack?
Last night, I watched Restoring the Shack on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN).
Such a tear-jerker! William Paul Young narrated Restoring the Shack and he was talking about me. No, not “Lorraine” but similar life experiences. Restoring the Shack was presented in four episodes covering two hours. I invite you to watch…. (Episodes not yet available [3/06/17] but check TBN because I’m confident it will soon be available.)
THANK YOU, Paul Young, and TBN.
Please read my postscript and postscript #2.
Postscript #3, March 8, 2017, 10:30 AM: This excellent video (link) arrived in my email-box. Must see!!!!
“The Shack” postscript
Digging deeper, I found additional information about “The Shack“ movie. There was/is controversy in the Christian community. THE SHACK Probably Won’t Lead You Astray. . . But It Could Lead Some People
The Shack Study Guide: Healing for Your Journey Through Loss, Trauma, and Pain
Buy the book: The Shack: Where Tragedy Confronts Eternity
Finding God in “The Shack”
After reading Ben Kayser’s detailed evaluation of the movie, as an old-time religion, King James Bible fundamental believer, I don’t plan to see the movie. (I very rarely go to a movie.) Don’t let me stop you; go see the movie if so inclined!!! (Let me know your opinion?)
“The Shack” postscript #2

It was an impulse decision by another resident: “Let’s get a group together and go to the movie.” It was announced during the noon meal (at the CARE Center) and we departed shortly after lunch. It was an hour drive to Kingwood (the nearest location). ~~ After the movie, we enjoyed dinner at Cracker Barrel.
Honest opinion: I loved “The Shack”!! Personally, I thought a unique genre, a creative way to explain the depths of God’s love.
New Dell Laptop Computer
New Dell Laptop Computer. With an enormous scanning project planned, I need a new “tool.” The ASUS (purchased more than four years ago) has served admirably but occasionally shocks me with a “blue screen.” No way I want to risk a big new job on an old computer. Savvy folks will recognize that the new purchase is an “old computer.” I chose Windows-7 (again) because I’m familiar with it. Four years ago, Windows-8 was pre-installed on my purchase. I hated it, and returned, and exchanged for “seven.” I’ve watched friends and neighbors using Windows-10 and I dislike that operating system too.
Above: Saturday pictures and narrative. ~~ Sunday morning listening to TV worship services while removing clutter from the surfaces destined for a new project. Step number two: Work on all the clutter now scattered on the floor. ~~ Yesterday afternoon and evening: Frustrating job initializing the new computer and finally receiving WiFi signal on it. I suspect a “geek” would have swiftly completed the task (Kudos to the old lady for her accomplishment?) ~~ At this time, the Dell computer will be dedicated to the scanning project.
