BIG mistake !!

Area vacated by tropical plants

Fewer plantsThis morning, when I positioned myself to take the picture on the right, I stepped into an area with fire ants. (Their “hill” isn’t obvious.) Instantly, I had more than one-hundred ants on my feet and ankles. I’ve applied Rexall Anti-Itch Cream, “maximum strength relief,” but it isn’t relieving the pain. Oh, the challenges I experience in my “yarden” (lol). ~~ The plants have been watered (earlier) and are ready for another hot humid day.

Barefoot sandles

Mix a thick paste of baking soda and water and apply to the area of the bites. It really helps, and I use very cool water to mix the paste.

I’ve read that washing the bites with witch hazel right after they happen is good, but I’ve never remembered that. And I have a friend that swears by apple cider vinegar. We use an OTC ready that smells like ammonia. I’ve also read that some people claim the ant bikes brought them relief from arthritis. Beats me. I HATE the little buggers. The baking soda paste makes sense. Hope you find decent relief.
