Just a note…

…to say I’m OK. This message will be brief because the only electric outlet (in McDonald’s) is under the TV and it is blasting the program for the whole room to hear. I see no way to turn down the volume. I’ll upload pictures later today because I’m only 100 miles from my destination.  I’ll have time (and no distraction).

It’s 7:50 AM; I am in Leeds, Louisiana. I’m near the Texas state line.

Five-thirty PM: I’ve been at the Escapee Rainbow’s End RV Resort since noon. I’ve done very little to “set up”; I’ve walked… and explored….

I’ve discovered that there is no free WiFi.  A resident in the Resort took pity on me and let me link-in to his system. I wanted to quickly let the readers know that it may be another day or two before I upload pictures and provide more details regarding my trip.

Good to hear from you! Praying for safety. You got out of town just the right time, Today is cold, rainy and windy. Yesterday rained off and on all day. I am watchying this chubby, tiny hummingbird who is drinking, drinking, drinking and resting resting resting for several minute now. Most of the hummers past week have been the green back whicte front species. This one is so cute, chubby I will call him.apparently it is a female, not sure which variety, but in the “southwest” breeds. Well after several minutes it has left. Out into the cold and wind and rain. I hope it makes it, as I am praying you do also.

No wi-fi? In a place that big, in this day and age; that’s surprising. But once you’re settled in a bit you will be able to explore by car, and find the local library and free hotspots. Now you can relax a bit, get settled in, check out the area, and see what’s what. Good to know you’re there safe.

Glad you arrived safely. So is this the RV park where you will be staying permanently? Not much news around here – just cold and rainy. Thanks for keeping us updated. I, and others, are praying for you.

    Blessings,

    Gail Boemker
