Recycled blog message: More “time travel”

I decided that my readers had enough of my  “Independence Day” blog messages. This seemed like an interesting changeofpace. I could very easily write about being hacked on the fourth of July but that (probably) has limited appeal. Long story short: An avid genealogy cousin with decades of computer experience talked me through the frustrating hacked experience.

Patriotism on display

One old woman, proud to be an American,

grateful for freedom.

Voicing my opinion but “free speech” isn’t free anymore.

.

I’m not a model but “modeling” my patriotic outfits was fun. I’m wearing red, white, and blue every day this week. Strangely, my “patriotism on display”  seems to annoy some of the vocal Democrats. “They” have already (with disgust) identified me as “Oh, you are one of those Trump supporters.”

I’m reminded of the words of Rodney King:

“…Yet on May 1, 1992, King called a press conference in hopes of stopping the death and destruction. ‘I just want to say, you know, can we all get along?’ he implored everyone watching. ‘Can we get along? Can we stop making it horrible for the older people and the kids?’”

POSTSCRIPT @ 7:00 PM: Double trouble? Lorraine is a Bible-believing Christian and a registered Republican.

July 4th, 2023

I took eleven pictures and I do not like a single one!! “Old age” is unattractive (IMHO). The previous picture (previous blog message) was taken five years ago. I like to hide behind largeframe glasses.

Postscript @ 5:00 PM: I get so giddy with happiness when I receive a compliment and kind words.

to me

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL WITH OR WITHOUT GLASSES!!!!!!!

You are ageless. Timeless. You are LORRAINE the MAGNIFICENT!

And thanks for the pre-4th and 4th clipart.

Not many flags flying around here. Maybe everyone has gone to the lake or celebrated over the weekend.

Very quiet. Hope y’all have some sparklers or are near some fireworks. Won’t be much here. Enough whining…….thank you and hope your new community had fun celebrating another birthday for our beautiful country.

Love ya!!

Recycled: Happy Independence Day !!

Recycled from July 4th, 2012

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 4th of July. ~~ I had planned to walk in the Waxhaw parade beside the JAARS float. But it is just too hot (for this old lady). I laid out my patriotic wardrobe last night but changed my mind this morning.  It will get up to at least 96 degrees today and humidity is already high. ~~ It seems like the “sensible thing” (health-wise) to not walk on hot pavement in this heat. I’m staying home… and working on my “independence” as I continue to free myself from an excessive amount of personal possessions. (“Downsizing”!!)

Postscript, 3:30 PM: Ninety-four degrees!!

Postscript, 5:00 PM: “Heat index over 100 degrees!” per evening news weatherman.

POSTSCRIPT on July 2nd, 2023: I sound like a broken record: “Downsizing” and “heat.”

Independence for Lorraine ?!

I smiled from ear to ear while looking at a dozen picture jokes sent by a cousin, This picture describes Lorraine (don’t you think?). My stories have sidetracks! ~~ “Independence for Lorraine?”  No more maintenance and yard work!!

.

Kind words !!

You’re Moving On!!

Hoping from this point on the move/unpacking/organizing will be both smoother and cooler.
Now! Lorraine!! (You do clipart, I do exclamations!)
This move is not about losing independence. There may occasionally be physical or mobility issues, but Lorraine you have a brain. Until your brain stops functioning (and it never will) you will never lose your independence.
You are the most diehard, independent I know!
Celebrate this awesome nation’s birthday this coming 4th AND celebrate your own awesome independence with lots of clipart and the beauty of you and our flag flying high on your blog.
Lots of love,
Good Old Cousin Nora

This tired old lady is so delighted with the email message (above). Today, I’ve been recuperating from yesterday’s labor and heat. Honestly, I ache all over. I intended to publish a blog message mid-morning about the breakfast treat. I intended… but I’ve done nada, zip, zero today.  Every Thursday, we get an omelet prepared with the ingredients of our choice. Mine is a veggie omelet.

“Half-dead” tired !!

If I was “dead tired,” I’d be dead, wouldn’t I?

Just one “before” picture (below). There are more pictures (weeks ago) of the “stuff” in the carport.

I failed to get a picture of the two young women who thoroughly cleaned the trailerfrom nine until noonfront to back, floor to ceiling. Then the carpet cleaners arrived.

Postscript at 8:00 PM: My legs got me to my apartment but they refused to take me to the five o’clock evening meal. Minutes ago, I got out of the shower where I washed off sweat and grime. Now I’m headed to bed. GOOD day, good night.
