…because I’m serious about my health and that of my neighbors, friends and family. Everyday, my email box  is full of messages from many practitioners of holistic health. Here is a realistic (to me) Food Pyramid. It’s an uphill battle–for me–when I advocate alternative medicine here at CARE. Day before yesterday, free flu shots were given (but not to Lorraine).  You’d think I have leprosy the way nursing staff and some residents avoid me. Furthermore, many residents actually seem to enjoy the woefully inadequate diet served here. Next Spring, Lord willing, I plan to plant my own organic vegetable garden. (I’m still planning for one or more garden towers.) 

I love my little postage-stamp-size yard and garden!!

Postscript, Friday, Oct. 3rd, 2014: Thought I should add (and clarify) that I’m one of those “radical” people who don’t believe in flu shots.

“Happy” to get more paving blocks down. “Hot” and sweaty because another humid day. Break time!!

Friends have swarms of Hummingbirds at their feeders. My only consolation: Maybe I’ll have more hummingbirds next year!!

This afternoon I figured out how to open the video(s) on my computer–and how to insert them in my blog.  Wow!! (The next best thing to having Hummingbirds at my feeders is watching these scenes over and over!!) Gotta tell ya: This computer/blog challenge was prompted because, yesterday, I sat on Gary and Christine’s porch and actually experienced the awesome spectacle. Thanks, dear friends!!

While browsing a thrift shop, I saw a Rubbermaid high back rocking chair. “Oh, that would be ideal for my patio!!”  Sadly, it had already been sold. To satisfy my curiosity, I searched the Internet (because I had never previously seen that chair before). OMG; too expensive!! ~~ I’ll spend over $100.00 for a composter and $100.00 (each) for rain barrels but I won’t spend over $100.00 for a plastic patio chair!!

It’s Sunday; I think I’ll rest–on my patio–in a cheap “garage sale” lawn chair. Rest… and read “the good book.”

See what popped up along the side of my computer screen. Google is trolling my messages–and my blog. It has been less than two hours since I originally published this message (about 9 A.M.) and I’m receiving  advertisements. I like that rain barrel, too, but who wants to pay $31.65 shipping?? Not Lorraine!!

Déjà vu. For the second time in forty-eight hours, I was at Builder’s Supply for paving blocks. Now I have fourteen more… and will cover more ground, extending my patio.  The mole dug new tunnels overnight!!

Boy do I need the information in this article: 13 natural, easy ways to deal with ant infestations. I’ve been fighting the little pests indoors and outdoors!! Always so much valuable information (IMHO) from Mike Adams and Natural News.
