Question for Lorraine

“What part of the body are we praying for?”  The left side of my body from the shoulder to the thigh. That’s the side I fell on. I still believe there are no broken bones, Praise God. Here it is, Saturday, and I still cannot walk without the cane. Honestly, I can hardly walk. It became so uncomfortable sitting in my glider/recliner all day and half the night so I tried the bed. It is agonizing to try and stretch out in bed. I’ve spent three hours, each, in bed, Thursday night and Friday night. ~~ As you might imagine, my “downsizing projects” are at a standstill. My mind was determined to “downsize” my overabundance of stuff. I was going to ignore Ancestry.com. I’m angry with myself for this interruption of my good intentions!!

Urgent prayer request !!

“Downsizing” is high on my priority list. I was making good progress this morning. I returned to the project shortly after 1:00 PM, after lunch, and (regrettably) fell off the bottom step of the porch steps. Praise God, I didn’t fall from the top step. I scooted around and got to one of my “bottle bushes” and used the planter to boost myself to my feet. I’m in a lot of pain but don’t think I have any broken bones. Please pray that I recover quickly and get back to my downsizing.

POSTSCRIPT @ 8:30 AM Thursday: I slept in my recliner last night because I can’t “hobble” to the bedroom. Yes, I “hobble” while relying on two canes.

POSTSCRIPT @ 10:30 AM: “Getting no better fast.”

POSTSCRIPT @ 1:30 PM: Twenty-four hours since the fall and I am “a tiny bit” better. Now I only need one cane. I’ve been “doctoring” with a hot pad and IcyHot.

Our local weatherman predicts a week or ten days of daily thunderstorms and the possibility of more hail. In that case, I would not have gotten much accomplished outdoors. Now I have to pray that the boxes of items stored on the porch will not get wet. Yes, on Wednesday, I started boxes with items for a local Food Bank and Thrift Store.

Ignoramus ?!

For two weeksor moreI was not receiving any phone calls. I thought I’d finally stopped all the spam calls. Then a friend sent me an email message telling me she tried to call… but it went to voicemail. She figured I was not near my phone. The second time, no answer… so she sent an email. Frankly, I am too dumb for a smartphone!! I fiddled with it but was “getting nowhere fast.”  My friend suggested I turn off the phone and restart it. I did that. I went to the Internet and pulled up the instruction manual. I enlarged the print so I could read the tiny information. I fiddled around some more and called my friend and asked her to call me. She tried but got the voicemail message–and she emailed me. Fiddling around, I saw the words “Do not disturb.”  OMG, is that the problem? I finally got rid of “Do not disturb” and received a call from another friend. With a sigh of relief, “thank goodness”  the problem is solved.

No such luck. The next day, same problem following a couple of “spam” calls. The caller wanted to  enroll me in a Medicare program and I said “No thanks.”  She kept talking so I tapped the image of a phone below the caller information. I thought I was hanging up on her. During my sleepless night, hashing over the events of the day, I wondered if tapping the little phone image was the “do not disturb”  button. So I fiddled some more, and I talked to the phone requesting “Turn off do not disturb.”  The phone replied with a message saying “he/she/it” turned off “Do not disturb.”
