“Best laid plans…”

Wide awake in pre-dawn hours, I told myself I was **NOT** going to touch Ancestry today. About four o’clock I got up and “yes” made a bee-line to the computer to check my email messages. Ancestry advised me that I had a message from Louis Tiner (“goodie goodie”) and I rapidly went to his messageand followed it with a reply. (No need to document the messages here.)

.

I’ve added a lot more information today and it may prove beneficial as I work to accurately document the third great-grandfather of Herbert James Tiner.

Laissez-fair

Before I got out of bedat a pre-dawn hourI planned to write a blog message about laissez-fair. What was I going to say? I’ve forgotten… because my mind became stuffed with thoughts and words about “ancestry.” ~~ It has been sixty years since I lived in Paris, France, and I still have un petit peu recollection of the language.

High noon !!

After a couple of days of intensive research, I believe I have everything documented “copasetic.” I’ll turn to projects that have been neglected. Click the images (below) to enlarge them for better viewing.

It’s a heavy load but I strive for 200% accuracy.

Tiger by the tail…

…and can’t let go!!

Couldn’t sleep; awake at one and up at two. It is one o’clock in the afternoon and I’ve been searchingand documentingfor eleven hours. My “brick wall” is not a lack of information, it is too much misinformation.

Just a janitor, cleaning up messes !!

Need I say more? I create pictures (and attach to the individuals) because I am beginning to believe that many Ancestry subscribers can’t read.

.

True story: I have Polly Frantz fully documented in my tree. Because I observed so many Ancestry trees with inaccurate information, I “started from scratch” to make certain my research and documentation is accurate.

Archivist, too?

Archivist, too? Hey, there aren’t enough hours in the day!! I can’t keep up with requests and clean up messes!! There was another message titled “Lorrainehas to be a mistake.”

POSTSCRIPT on 21 Apr 2022:

THANK YOU, Shelly, for your message. I hate to disappoint you but I can’t help you. I am not related to Mabel Whipple although she is in a “tree” that I own. Honestly, I rescued the Traxler information from an extended family member. Her decades of research– compiled in a genealogy software program–would have ended up in the dumpster. I acquired the information on a “thumb drive” and uploaded it to Ancestry. Perhaps you can search for Whipple in other Ancestry trees and locate a family member. ~~ Wishing you “happy researching” from Lorraine Frantz Edwards.

Just a janitor !!

I was NOT going to “climb the family tree.” However, yesterday (via Messaging), I met a new cousin on a far-away branch of the tree. I think she has copied too many Ancestry Member Family Trees!!! She has more than 230,000 individuals in her tree and she has my ancestry wrong (in her tree and quite possibly, therefore, wrong in a lot of trees). So, I’m working to clean up the mess but I foresee that this is A BIG JOB.

Bad news, good news !!

Receiving “hints” is always “good news.” I wish Ancestry would send information about the elusive Sidney Tiner!! “Bad news”: Awake at one o’clock in the morning and can’t go back to sleep. This is an undesired habit and lack of sleep leaves me “tired” all day!! I take two Melatonin tablets before ten PM and that provides three hours of sleep. I’ve tried two tablets of Melatonin at one (or two) and it fails to put me back to sleep. Hey, “good news” that I “wake up” and I’m not another statistic!!
