“Rolling blackouts”  in Texas. I awakened in the middle of the night, knowing something was wrong. I was shivering cold because the electric heated mattress pad wasn’t working. “Why?”  I went into the living room and looked out the window. No street lights; no lights anywhere!!  I covered my quilt with the “slanket” and spent several more hours in bed. My electricity was off for more than twelve hours!! When the power was restored, I rushed to prepare the pictures and the blog. Suddenly, no electricity… and I hadn’t reached the point of publication of this message. ~~~ Power again, at four o’clock, and I rush to publish although more that I could write.

Sneaking pictures in while I have power. My trailer home is warm because I’m running the propane furnace at 70 degrees. Previously, I was relying on the space heaters because I don’t know how much propane remains in the tank. With these freezing temperatures, I think it’s important to heat the trailer before the next “blackout.” ~~ This morning, I retrieved the old, neglected radio–and batteries. ~~ I’m so glad I purchased all sizes of batteries on my previous shopping trip. I’m grateful that I took the time, several weeks ago, to reprogram the indoor-outdoor thermometer. I like to know the temperature.
