Questions

Did I get up on the wrong side of the bed? This morning is not going well. (It doesn’t require a detective to figure that out.) The Banker phoned to say the sale of my 5th-wheel trailer is almost complete. When he mentioned the sale price I was astonished. “No”  that wasn’t the established sale price. I have no choice but to continue with the transaction. True story: The other day a man phoned and offered the full asking price. He said he knows the quality of a Carriage trailer. I thanked him for his interest but told him I’m committed to another buyer.

Morning not going well? I can smell the mold and mildew!! I “know” it is detrimental to my health!! The “inhibitors” (products) don’t seem to be “inhibiting.” What’s the old lady supposed to do?? I have not used the EcoQuest air purifier but plan to move it outdoors (to the porch) and aim it at the kitchen wall. I may still smell the ozone; I may get sick again? I have to make one more attempt… Furthermore, I can’t stand the odor of bleach or I would spray the visible mold. The weather is hot (and humid) and mandates that I use the air-conditioner. If cooler weather, I could have doors and windows open when using bleach.

In the TV news this morning, a story about families forced to move because of mold and mildew in their apartments. Is another move in my future??

Sleepless in Waco. Sick and tired old lady!!

What next ??

Even on the lowest setting, I could smell the ozone. My eyes were burning, I was sneezing and coughing. “Off” went the EcoQuest air-purifier.

.

See the drawer in my nice front yard? I’ll struggle… and remove the other drawers. Hopefully “nature” will accomplish what artificial products did not accomplish. ~~~ When I opened the water heater door (for the first time), I discovered a leak. I’ve already requested an RV repairman (before twelve noon)!!

.

Almost two o’clock: Ten or fifteen minutes of ozone was “too much.” It’s in my trailer home and I have a monster headache, burning and itching eyes. I continue to cough and sneeze. OMG, how stupid of me to set up the EcoQuest air-purified for the second time!!

Woulda, coulda, shoulda ?

This situation has not “brought me to my knees” but it brought me to a standstill!!!! My headache friend, B.C., has not brought relief. Cold wet washrag on my forehead hasn’t stopped the pain. This is real, this is not my imagination. With 20/20 hindsight, I question how many people got sick from the EcoQuest units I sold them. Woulda, coulda, shoulda!! “Shoulda” checked the water heater cabinet sooner; “coulda” stopped the leak sooner; “woulda” if I wasn’t brand-new to this old “park model’ trailer. At first glance, in December, this trailer looked fine but I’m finding a lot of maintenance problems.

Sleepless in Waco

Same sorry story!! It’s 3:30 as I start this message. After an hour of not going back to sleep, I felt compelled to “do something.” I’ll write about my recent–and current–mystery.

Out of the blue, the other day, a woman sent a comment via Ancestry messaging because she was advised we are 5th to 8th cousins. (I very rarely look at  the DNA relationships because I’m busy with family I can identify.) My curiosity was whet so I checked and the identification didn’t make sense. She is the step-daughter of the step-son of my second cousin-three-times-removed. Question: How can we be DNA cousins with “step-child” relationships?? I’ve devoted two days to exploring… hoping to find our common ancestor. I probably added three-hundred more relatives to my database!! No small fete; I finally identified the “second-cousin-three-times-removed.”  I have worked so many angles; I’ve identified “her” family all the way back to the boat. (LOL) There’s a marriage (yet to be identified) that is our DNA relationship. I enjoy the challenge but “mulling it over in my mind” kept me awake!!

I’ve added two-thousand more individuals to my Ancestry database in three weeks. Multiply that number by five or six to fifteen or twenty “hints” and “sources” for each individual and that indicates I’ve processed a lot of information lately. (But I don’t know [yet] the common ancestor of a DNA cousin.)

Trembling Thursday !!

Limited sleep last night worrying about a trip into Waco today. I had no choice; I needed to go to the Post Office to send a document by overnight mail. I don’t “know” Waco; I didn’t know the location of the Post Office; I checked Google… and programed the address into my Garman GPS. Even with the supposed address, “the old lady” could not find the Post Office. (Panic!!) In a bank parking lot, I asked a young lady for directions. I had driven past the P.O. twice but it was well hidden some distance from the street. OMG!! $26.50 to send the envelope one-hundred-eighty miles overnight. ~~~ Next: H.E.B-Plus where I spent three hours going up-and-down every aisle picking up groceries. ~~~ Furthermore, I deposited the “stimulus check” at my Bank located inside the huge market building. (Choosing that Bank was a deliberate move when I moved to Waco.) ~~~ Shopping was not as terrifying as I anticipated. I was wearing a mask and gloves and all the employees were wearing masks and gloves. 50/50 regarding customers with/without masks. ~~~ At home, I prepared a tuna sandwich and wolfed down corn chips with Dr. Pepper (thanks Deb). Honestly, I’ve craved bread and chips!! (And Dr. Pepper is yum-yum good!!) ~~~ Thanks to my friend, Deb, I was wearing an attractive cloth mask over the white disposable mask.

Trivia

Judy Garland was born ninety-eight years ago today.

If you read the Wikipedia article, you will see that she started life as Frances Ethel Gumm in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Later the family moved to Lancaster, California (my former home town).

Trivia #2

As previously stated, this blog is my journal. Today I am sick. Only time will tell whether it is due to the ionizer or “old age.” The ionizer has been operating less than twenty hours and, hopefully, curtailing the mold and mildew problem. Will I expire from the health problem of mold–or ozone?

“Yes, I turned it off. No, ‘sick’ isn’t my imagination.”

P.S. I didn’t find my article on the Internet. Quite possibly EcoQuest managed to get it removed. Here is a link to another of my blog messages.

P.S.S. “What kind of sick?”  you asked. Monster headache and upset stomach. I feel like I want to vomit. I’m lethargic; I can hardly move. This is NOT a normal “Lorraine morning.”
