Frustrated old lady !!

The new (refurbished) Dell computer arrived this afternoon and I rushed to unpack the huge box. When everything was removed, I discovered there was no keyboard!! OMG, what a disappointment!! So I had to contact the company and I’m told they will put one in the mail today. ~~ I wish I could display pictures….   😦

“The Indian Fighter”

The Indian Fighter with Kirk Douglas was filmed in Central Oregon–not far from my home in LaPine, Oregon. This came to mind when I heard that Kirk Douglas passed away today–at age 103.

Hopefully, I too can enjoy a long life and spend productive years documenting the Frantz family and collateral lines. It is my hope and prayer that my memory continues to recall people and events.

“The weather outside is frightful…

…but here by the computer is so delightful.”*

Another “cousin” contacted me (yesterday) and I’m so blessed with additional information that extends the branches of our family trees.

*A play on the words of an old song. No, we don’t have snow but it is cloudy and cold.

Terrified last night !!

Last night, I stumbled across a movie on TV–a movie I did not see in a theater. “Terrified”  because the setting is my home state of California. The location was the San Andreas earthquake fault which ran about ten miles from my home in Lancaster, Los Angeles County, California. Yes, the movie was San Andreas and I put myself in those settings. I’ve lived in San Francisco, I know those landmarks. I was a resident of north Los Angeles County for forty years, I know Los Angeles landmarks. I have immediate family living in Southern California and I could “see” my loved ones experiencing that disaster. Here I am, hours later, and I cannot get the horrible tragedy out of my mind.

FYI: I personally experienced the Northridge earthquake.

Disagreeable morning !!

We enjoyed two beautiful days, weatherwise, but cold and windy this morning. I wouldn’t want to be outdoors right now (sixty-seven degrees). I’m grateful I was able to accomplish so much in the yard and carport. So today is another “git-r-done” indoors day.

Casually clean carport

Another very beautiful day weatherwise. Lots of time, and energy, spent moving the remainder of the clutter from the carport. Some items are “out-of-sight” behind the storage unit. Other items are stored in front of the trailer behind the high fence. As time (and weather) permits, I’ll set up bottle bushes and decorate my yard. When a “helper” is available, we will organize things piled randomly into the storage unit. (It’s impossible to move around in the storage unit!!) Ninety-two degrees outdoors in the sunshine as I publish the message at 1:05 PM.

Would if I could but I can’t !!

I’d like to do a blog titled “Back in the saddle again.” I’d refer to Gene Autry singing that song decades ago. Why “Back in the saddle again”? Because I purchased black oil sunflower seeds yesterday and filled two bird feeders today. Lorraine was “back in the garden again.”

I moved most of the clutter from the carport and hid it behind the storage unit. Sorry, no new pictures but this is the way it has looked for more than one month. This picture of the clutter taken at the first of January.

I considered a blog message with the title “Tuckered out” with a picture of my rocking lawn chair on the porch and you could imagine “the old lady” resting for a few minutes. Tomorrow promises to be another beautiful day and I’ll approach a few more outdoor projects. Too “tuckered out” to do more this afternoon.

Oh yes, must tell the reader that two Cardinals have been visiting my yard. You would think I was a kid at Christmas because I got so excited when I saw the pair in my front yard. Obviously, I had to purchase seed and search “the clutter” for the bird feeders!!

Naptime.

“Would if I could but I can’t”  refers to pictures of my activities.
