Too many hours, yesterday, at the computer “climbing the family tree.” I got lost in the search for information about a “collateral line” individual. I should have walked away but it was a challenge. Now my head is swimming with ideas for a story. The story is begging to be written because the details are so unusual the reader will think it’s fiction. I didn’t go to bed until 1:30 this morning after seventeen hours marathon. Honestly, I don’t have time to write a story because major downsizing projects clutter my trailer home, patio and carport. “Downsize, donate, and discard” are paramount.
Typed words, decades ago, these two rhymes are in the front of a loose-leaf notebook full of recipes I saved through the years. I’m “too sentimental” to discard the notebook; I’m “saving” it and a few other cookbooks. Most of my “health” books library–and “health” cookbooks–will go to a young woman preparing to be a naturopathic nutritionist. (Picture on the right is my current library of health books.) ~~ Before I left North Carolina, in 2013, I donated seventeen boxes of health books to my chiropractor (for his office). I’ve practiced “health and nutrition” half my lifetime. (“Practiced” but not perfected, ha.)
Yesterday, I spent a minimum of time “climbing the family tree.” In Ancestry, I came across the name “Reppert” and thought “I know that name.” It required a brief search and I had information regarding a first cousin, one-time-removed. Then I recalled our correspondence and a visit in her home (1993). Here is a link to the information I scanned (2017) and included in Digitized Library of Family History.
