Malaise

The word malaise has been rolling around in my head. Because this blog is my journal, I respect the fact that my body is talking to me. If I were to speculate about the reason for my malaise,
I’d mention fatigue (lack of sleep), and oppressive heat. “Unidentified” might be my recent thwarted plans to care for Gabriella and her nine pups.
Remorseful !!
Be sure to read Dog watching.
Today, I’m the remorseful “animal” because I failed a friend!! Taking care of Gabriella and the pups was important to both Sam and me.

Several friends and acquaintances have contacted me with suggestions. Because I do not want to go to Emergency (or a doctor) I am doing “amateur doctoring.”
Pray with me that nothing serious will develop.
“Dear Diary” (Dear Journal)

It’s a mystery (to me): Why can’t I get a good night’s sleep? Why do I have a frog inside my trailer home? How did a frog get in?
.
Read the messages above my computer. Maybe the frog was sent to draw my attention to those messages?! I confess to a cluttered trailer home. (I prefer to spend time outdoors in the yard. ) “The beauty of the home is order.” I definitely do not have “order” in my life. “Clutter is not just the stuff on your floor; It’s anything that stands between you and the life you want to be living.”
Honestly, I dare not speak, or write, about “the life [I] want to be living.” Time for some soul-searching?
Dog watching !!
This morning, I went grocery shopping because I’ve planned to be “home bound” for several days. I wanted to buy a few doggie treats, too, so I could endear myself to the Mom and nine pups. A friend is leaving town on a business trip. Frankly, I’m not a “doggie person.” However, I’m always eager to help a friend. ~~ Here are some details about a topic of no particular interest. At the grocery store, I was tempted–and succumbed–to the purchase of a chicken pot pie from the hot food display in the deli. I headed directly home with perishables–and pot pie. That’s not my typical food of choice but in my mind it seemed like a good-tasting infrequent treat. One bite and I was so disappointed!! It was too salty!! I ate a few more bites and then returned it to its original container. Less than two hours after the purchase, I was back in the store to complain. I seldom complain about a poor quality food item that I purchase. I never make a second trip into town to return a product. I’m concerned about food and nutrition (as the reader is aware). IMHO, man nor beast should be eating that pot pie!! ~~ On the second trip into Livingston, I stopped at Lowe’s to check their mark-down plants. A large variety but nothing I wanted.
Sam, Gabriella and nine pups arrived mid-afternoon. She has been in my yard several times so I never dreamed there would be a “getting acquainted” problem. Sam left at 6:15 for the square dance in the clubhouse (across the street). Later (after fixing my supper), when I went into my yard, Gabriella became vicious toward me!! She had a ferocious bark (and I’d never heard her bark) and I was cautious as I tried to walk away. I politely said “no, Gabriella.” She bit my leg, and drew blood. I hated to… but went for Sam. He talked to the dog before returning to the dance. As I publish this (at 8:00 PM) I am uncertain about my “dog watching” future.

They’re gone. During the evening, I was a captive in my trailer home. Gabriella would go the length of the cable, half-way up the ramp to my door, giving every impression she would attack me. I was afraid to attempt to go past her (and no other way out of the trailer). I phoned Sam with the information. Before I knew he was in my yard, he had loaded Gabriella, carrier, and pups, into his truck. Then he gathered bowls, toys, and bags of dog food (dog food stored in my laundry room). ~~ I feel miserable; I wanted to help my friend.

June 5, 2018: Your “amateur photographer” isn’t adept at setting up the camera on a tripod and activating the timer. This the best of several pictures of dog bite. I’m trusting this is not serious enough to warrant a trip to the doctor (I deliberately avoid doctors).
Relieve with Aleve !!

Almost the first thing I did after I got up: A swallow of water and an Aleve. Every inch of my body aches!! On the positive side, I got a good night’s sleep. A solid seven hours sleep (10:00-5:00) and two hours (5:00-7:00 AM) in bed wishing I could go back to sleep. (Trusting “fatigue,” I did not use a “sleep aid” last night.)

Trouble in the Temple
Click this link for Trouble in the Temple message from It is Written. They are discussing the health regime I have attempted to embrace for more than forty years. ~~ I was enjoying a salad when I found, and enjoyed, the TV program on TBN.
Unexpected thunder-storm
For an extended period of time, no TV and no Internet because a thunder-storm blocked the signal.
Below are “before” pictures. When I moved here, during and after a rain storm the entry was a sea of mud. This evening, I spent time outdoors, in the rain, and witnessed the volume of water cascading from that corner of the roof. ~~ **If** I owned the property, I’d install a gutter to divert the water. Second best: I installed cement blocks so I don’t have to walk through mud and water.

I took a dozen pictures trying to capture a lightning flash. Unsuccessful!! Oh the joy of that unexpected thunder-storm!! ~~ I turned off the air-conditioner and opened the door. Still eighty-one degrees indoors but comfortable.

The storm had moved west, out of our area, prior to the 10:00 PM TV news.

Monday, June 4, 2018: A trip around the yard revealed little damage but lots of debris. Side note: The A/C has been “off” for twelve hours. That’s awesome!!
