Meanwhile…

Lorraine dug around in the cargo trailer to locate the spade for the Hughes Satellite Internet installer. During the process, was able to extricate the reading lamp. When “installer” was finished with the spade, I tried to dig a hole for the base of the mailbox. The ground was too hard; I’m not proud of the appearance. When it is warmer, I’ll stabilize….

Plans for 2018

It makes me tired just thinking about all the projects awaiting my time and attention!! Furthermore, thinking about the tasks keeps me awake at night!! It’s 5:00 AM as I start this message. After our extremely cold weather, I may not have any plants to nurture. I will limit my future garden. LOTS of gardening paraphernalia to offer at a “yard” sale; lots to offer “free” in an effort to “downsize.”

Previously, so many donations went to the CARE Center Thrift ‘n Gift shop. Not this year. Previously, all my earthly possessions were bequeathed to CARE, and two life insurance policies. My Will has been revised so the CARE Center is excluded.

The temperature outdoors registers twenty-three degrees but meteorologist’ will say “feels like” is several degrees colder. My indoors temperature is sixty-three degrees. My heaters just can’t compete with the outdoors temperature and warm my little trailer home. I’ll have to go back to bed to get warm. (I’m not complaining; I’m just documenting for “my journal”). Many indoor projects I could/should tackle but “too cold.”

.

“If only”… (I hadn’t been evicted) I would be “hanging out” in the warm dining room of the CARE Center.

Deep freeze !!

.

Hated to get out of bed!! The warmest place in the trailer?! Up… and watched the weather report on the NBC Today show. Can’t complain!! So much colder in many areas across the United States. OMG!! All that snow; all those “below zero” temperatures!! Counting my many blessings!!

The TV meteorologist’ say eight degrees colder, “feels like” temperature, due to the “wind chill.”

Foible ??

Always like to think of an interesting title for my blog. The word foible came to mind. I thought I could label my project a foible but perhaps best linked to the project person??

.

Packed away in some unknown location, jars of nails, screws, washers, etc., etc. For decades I’ve enjoyed my own small “hardware store.”

Happy (cold) New Year’s Day

Sweat pants, sweat shirt, “thermal” underwear: Where are they?? Alas, lost in the disorganized items thrown into the cargo trailer (items previously stored in the storage building). Shoulda bought thermals (because we knew the temperature would plummet) but so seldom needed. “Thermals”–and furnace–would feel good today!! Visualize me wrapped in the “Slanket,” watching the Rose Parade (on my newly installed satellite television).

.

Far too cold (for this old lady) and TV meteorologist’ are cautioning to cover all plants because sustained temperature in the 20’s. I haven’t any desire to brave the cold; I hate to lose my once-attractive plants!!!! One exception: I covered George Bowden’s little Christmas tree. That is irreplaceable.
