Couldn’t sleep; too much on my mind!! In my mind’s-eye, I need “back up” for my new, valuable (precious to me) scanned information. I opened my box of “computer stuff” and took out a former back up system and attempted to set it up on the new computer. It wasn’t “recognized.” So I tried it on my old computer and, likewise, not recognized. “My Book“ was purchased at Best Buy in Pineville, North Carolina, on June 14, 2012 and cost $129.99 (“yes” I have the receipt). ~~ Next decision: Do I buy another back up or do I pay to save my files to “the cloud”? (Just shy of 6:00 AM as I publish this message.)
You need to format the hard drive to the new current operating system on your computer. Surely there is someone in the park that can help you. I’m not a PC user and not familiar with the current menu choices so I can’t advise.

I’d check the website and contact the company to make sure that what you have can’t be updated first. …http://support.wdc.com/knowledgebase/answer.aspx?ID=5735
Good morning Deb,
Thanks for the suggestion. However, I wrote a second blog message that addresses your concern. By now you’ve read it and know *”The Book”* is a new part of the conveyor belt of electronics on, and near, my tabletop.
Love & hugs from Lorraine
