The weather is pleasant–first thing in the morning. I have a tiger by the tail and I can’t let go!! Yesterday, I drilled holes in the bottom of the five large planters–and scrubbed them clean. This morning I distributed plastic items in the bottom… and added some previously used (earlier this year) planter soil. I’m indoors for a “tea break” because I’m exhausted. (Frankly, I’m not fully rested from yesterday’s labors.) Went grocery shopping, yesterday, because I was out of sugar to prepare Hummingbird nectar. Today, I belatedly found fire ants in some of the planters (and soil) I was transferring. They got me!! Oh, that itches!!

I’m a miserable “good-for-nothing” when the weather is terribly hot and humid!!
Here’s the fifth planter–with twenty-seven holes in the bottom. The shallow planter will be fine for Chrysanthemums–an annual flower with a splash of color for Fall.

Postscript, Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, 11:00 AM: Yes, half a bag of planter soil. No, the Fire Ants were not controlled with my product. I grabbed the planter this morning, planning to dump the soil… and instantly had hundreds of ants on me. I have welts on my hands and feet!!
