Oh, sweet relief from the heat!! How wonderful to turn off the air-conditioner!! It only rained for about one hour ten minutes but it was hard and heavy!! ~~ Note that red pail (last picture) is sitting on picnic table bench (seen in earlier picture). Four inches… and none is “run off.” Four and one-half inches in new planter and a small amount might have dripped from awning. Volumes of water poured off the corner of the awning into the rain barrel. Both rain barrels, and blue tub, are full. FYI: Overflow from first rain barrel goes to second barrel and blue tub.
The Maintenance Manager just left my yard (3:35) after instructing me that the planter–with Bluebird house–must be moved soon. Maintenance will construct a “berm” along the tree line and a ditch to divert water to a drain at the front of my site.

I enjoy following your blogs. I envy (I think the rain). In Visalia last year we had 4.6 inches of rain ALL YEAR. You had almost that much rain in little over an hour…About the same amount of rain the previous year, and the reservoir is quite low.
