Day 19 ~~ Thursday, August 8, 2013: Early morning, I saw “Mama Blue” and “Papa Blue” (separately) getting mealworms from the feeder. I haven’t approached the Bluebird house except to deliver mealworms. I haven’t turned on the spy camera TV channel. It’s kinda like a death in the family!! I’m not ready to go into “their” room. Know what I mean??
Day 20 ~~ Friday, August 9, 2013: I saw “Papa Blue” at 8 o’clock, and “Mama Blue” at 8:20 AM, 5:15 & 5:30 PM. Those were the only sightings.
Day 21 ~~ Saturday, August 10, 2013: Brief sighting of both adults at 8:15 AM before leaving for all-day volunteer at JAARS Day (open house).
Day 22 ~~ Sunday, August 11, 2013: Oh happy day!! Mama & Papa spent a lot of time coming and going. And what a thrill when I saw one of the baby Bluebirds at the feeder. I speculate s/he followed the parents and then sat there thinking “What do I do next?”
Day 23 ~~ Monday, August 12, 2013, 8:30 PM: I saw “Mama Blue” and “Papa Blue” many times throughout the day. If one or more recently fledged babies came to the mealworm feeder, I missed them.
Day 24 ~~ Tuesday, August 13, 2013, 1:00 PM: “Papa Blue” was the only Bluebird that visited the mealworm feeder this morning.
~~~~~~~ Tuesday, August 20, 2013, 1:00 PM: Occasionally I see the adult Bluebirds. If they have visited the mealworm feeder, I have missed seeing the recently fledged babies. For the record: I’ve been busy with “downsizing” and that beautiful (IMHO) arrangement (steel post, bird house, feeders, bird bath, baffle, planter base, and camera) is for sale. I’m moving out of the area (and I hope and pray “my” Bluebirds will miss me).
~~~~~~~ Sunday, August 25, 2013, 7:45 PM: I just saw all four recently fledged baby Bluebirds on the mealworm feeder. No picture.
~~~~~~~ Monday, August 26, 2013, 7:45 AM: Ditto above!! When I slid the screen door open to take a picture, they flew away.
Friday, August 30, 2013, 7:45 AM: All four of “my” babies on the mealworm feeder. The parents were noticeably absent.
