Frazzled ?

The precision of a surgeon and the patience of a saint.

.

I may not have the “patience of a Saint” but I need it!! It is relaxing to shift from Ancestry.com to the preparation of a blog message. The families are so entwined, it has (for me) become “an exact science.” Every keystroke is considered before I hit the “save” key. Here is an example of families I’ve been working with this afternoon.

An individual may have many records with various spelling of the surname. Now, I have so many related individuals in my database, Ancestry’s “merge” feature fails to work for me. I have to seek the individuals individually and determine which one to keep. (Mental gymnastics.)

While searching “clip art,” I saw this one (left) and add it as a bit of humor. Testing for Covid-19 is a prominent news item. The reader can laugh with me or at me.

Counting my multitude of blessings !!

I’m extremely grateful, a friend sent me the first two pictures.

I took pride in this yard. In my humble opinion, it was a “showplace”!! Now (imho) it looks “forlorn.” By comparison, my living conditions have escalated from shabby to spectacular; from the nasty landlady to a very conscientious considerate landlord. ~~ Please forgive me for earlier doom and gloom blog messages.

Then & now.

Counting my blessings “fun” !!

<< This “memory”  popped up on the Facebook page of a friend. She forwarded it to me. I’m the “lion” on the left. My dear friend, Deb, is the giraffe behind me. ~~~ Here is a link with additional pictures. ~~~ Now I’m mystified: Where are the other pictures? I’m sure I have a blog message full of details. ~~~ THANKS for the memories!! ~~~ (Later) Finally found this blog message and conclude I must not have published dozens of pictures taken for that event. Shame, shame, Lorraine!! ~~~ (Even later) The lost was found but strangely I can’t upload them to this blog.  Such a frustrating mystery!! ~~~ Check this out: Another memory.

“Haywire”

That says it! The indoor/outdoor thermometer is a reflection of Lorraine: Gone ‘haywire.”  Old age can be blamed for the instrument error. Old age and the Coronavirus play a role in the life of Lorraine!! (Actually about thirty-eight degrees outdoors at 5:55 AM.)

8:00 PM: Honestly, I tried to stay off the computer. “Cousin” keeps sending obituaries and I just keep documenting them. The obituaries do not list the cause of death but with so many deaths regularly reported in the news, we can speculate Covid-19 was a contributing factor. Me? I’m hunkered down in isolation.
