Emphatically !!

Rather than a complaint about how bad I feelor about the horrible heatI want to voice my gratitude for a comfortable home and pleasant surroundings. I am distressed as I watch TV and see pictures of the hurricanedestroyed areas and homeless people. OMG, the flooding and destruction in the East and the fires in the West.

No pain, no gain ?

Lorraine has a new definition for “no pain, no gain.”  Aleve and IcyHot alleviate some of the discomforts but they are forgotten when researching. “How did we get it so wrong? Is my documentation correct?”  **If** there were “no pain” then “no gain” in my Ancestry family tree.

“Good grief” !!

“Getting it right” gets complicated because of “same name” and close family relationships. I’m still collecting information on Charles O. Flory and eventually no more green leaves (hints).

.

Postscript: It’s nine o’clock at night (twelve hours later) and the two men named “Charles” have been researched and thoroughly documented. I expected to find each on a separate limb of the “Flory” tree. Strangely, I couldn’t find the ancestors of Charles “A” beyond his grandfather. That’s a research project for another time. Sufficient for today: Two men named Charles Flory properly documented.

No tree for me ?!

Yesterday, all day, I worked indoors “filtering” my overabundance of “stuff.”  Paperwork was shredded, discards went in the wastepaper basket, “donations” set out on the porch. Items are going into boxes with labels identifying their eventual destination. For example, Christian books and literature to Love packagesand many books to the local library for their “Friends of the Library” book sale. ~~ So much to do!! “Day One” of my new downsizing project. ~~ The meteorologist says it will be cooler next week so “next week”  I’ll (hopefully) make progress in the carport and storage room.

.

Truth be told: I was “doing” genealogy in my dreams!! Then, wide awake (in bed), I was “doing” genealogy.  All the while, my gut was protesting against yesterday’s carefully selected food items. My legs were/are mildly comforted with IcyHot Pain Relieving Cream. ~~ Old age isn’t for wimps!!

September to remember ?

Earlier this year, I published a message titled New tune in June. Blame the Coronavirus-Delta variant, the extreme heat, or lack of motivation… “downsizing” was neglected. I have “good intentions” for September.

DAILY BIBLE VERSE

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Romans 12:2

Less pain Lorraine

(I like rhyming words!)

Two Aleve  before 8:00 AM but my “doctoring” has lessened the abdominal pain. One Aleve  at three and another moments ago. A reasonably good night’s sleep (praise the Lord). ~~ For several days, a “liquid diet” tamed the beast in my intestines. Hallelujah, “less pain Lorraine.” ~~ Recently, “Mr. Red” (owner-manager of this RV Park) gave me a pair of compression stockings. The painful swelling in my legs is gone. ~~ I’m incredibly happy to report that physically I can approach tasks and that may halt the depression.

Spizzerinctum

The word “spizzerinctum” was rattling around in my mind. Obviously, curiosity prompted me to do a Googe search. Here is an interesting explanation regarding spizzerinctum. I thought my followers would appreciate a message void of “trees” or “temperature.”

.

The words and the image (above) were prepared a couple of days ago and “scheduled” for this day. I wasn’t planning to say a word about genealogy!! Couldn’t help myself; I published “What a pretty lady” shortly after I started my day.

What a pretty lady !!

Couldn’t sleep; “up” before four. This picture was almost the first thing I saw (in my email). “What a pretty lady.” ~~ Yes, I’m drawn to the computer from early morning to late at night. “Computer” and “coffee” first thing in the morning. ~~ Her name is Dora Showalter and she is my great-grandaunt.
