Old age is such a bummer! I don’t have strength in my hands to twist off the nuts (and my plyers weren’t much help either). I don’t have the strength and energy to lift and carry heavy boxes. This move is going to kill me?!
Pliers aren’t the right tool for taking off a nut. You need a wrench or a socket, preferably the size of that the nut. A wrench will I’ve you a decent grip and leverage from the longer handle. And If you have any, soak the nuts with a penetrant. Most people have WD-40, but I like PB Blaster even better. Without the right tools, it would be difficult for anybody, young or old. Smaller containers make more handling, but are lighter to handle. Sometimes you’ll see people who have just moved offering their empty boxes, and most stores can come up with even a couple if you ask them. Don’t let the big picture overwhelm you. Take it one step at a time, and do what you can do. You’ll get there.

THANKS for the suggestions. I gave away my socket set; can’t find my wrenches and WD-40. The second and third time, I got the nut off with pliers.
