Old adage…

“If at first you don’t succeed, try try again.” Yesterday, I installed the “doorbell” that alerts me to visitors.  W-e-l-l-l-l,  it is so sensitive it picks up all the heavy traffic on the street in front of my home. “Third times a charm”?! Hopefully I’ll have the desired surveillance without the constant ringing of the bell?! ~~ Complication: After moving the sensor (third time), too much distance from doorbell chime. Therefore: An extension cord from “far side” of trailer to “near side.” Old adage: “…try try again.”

Arrival of Spring but feels like Winter

.

Sweater weather?! Reportedly, a “cold front” is moving in and we have this disagreeable wind–and bone-chilling cold. Of course, my friends in the Northeast will dispute “bone-chilling”  but I find the temperature very uncomfortable (after recent very hot days).

Wayne–with lawn mower and yard service–did a superb job on my front lawn. I am very impressed with his thorough job. Sadly, this is the first–and last–time he will do my yard because he is “going to work in the oil fields.” (Self-employed doesn’t pay the bills?)

Like a magnet…

the outdoors attracts me!!

The evening sunshine on the Azalea blossoms was spectacular!! (Three separate bushes.) I was indoors, trying to keep warm (and not turn on the heater), but the striking color screamed for my attention. Rarely visible (in my pictures), but hundreds of bees on the blooms. Perhaps the bees will take nectar back (one-quarter mile) to their home at Rudy’s Honey?

.

Couldn’t resist; I had to include today’s Google image.

Last night and this morning….

“The old lady” is very social media illiterate. Someone wrote ICUMI and an interpreter told me “in case you missed it.”  Did you see my message titled Capturing a storm? We had one inch of rain. Today will be cooler and less humid. A beautiful day and I should be working outdoors. Instead, indoor projects and a trip to the Post Office. I ordered from Amazon last week and item was scheduled for delivery on Saturday. Instead… an email saying United Parcel could not deliver and pick up my order at the Post Office. United Parcel made no effort to deliver!! I was home!! No note at my door saying an attempt had been made!! ~~ Oops!! OST (on second thought), United Parcel may not be the culprit. The package was probably “two-day Priority mail” but the “contract mailman” didn’t want to get out of his car and deliver the package across the street to my residence. C’est la vie (that’s life)!!

.

Found the rain gauge recently.

“Almost”…

“Almost” have Wisteria blooming in my yard. I think I have a pathetic few Bluebonnets. Check this website for beautiful display of Bluebonnets in Texas. (“Almost” applied myself to indoor tasks but “outdoors” pulled me like a magnet.)

.

“Almost” the dumbest project for my precious time and energy?? There were four orange cones but one disappeared (wind?). So I drilled a hole in one and it is secured on the pole. Holes drilled (pilot holes) and two cones screwed to one piece of wood. Cement block on top of piece of wood.

Believe it or not: While involved with “cones,” a man walked up and introduced himself. He will be in the neighborhood tomorrow (mowing neighbor’s yard) and wondered if I wanted my lawn mowed. “Yes”  was my quick reply.

Another man approached me this afternoon offering to mow my lawn FREE. Such a pleasant surprise.

New gadget !!

Frequently I am on “the other side” of my RV site (or indoors). I thought it would be beneficial to be alerted when a customer approaches the yard sale. The unit was inexpensive but “set up” quickly and easily. It will take some “tweaking” because first location didn’t catch me walking up the driveway. Second location isn’t good because it is picking up traffic on the street.

Smiley face Sunday

Strength and energy needed!! The proposed “yard”  yard sale is one week away and I am not ready!! “Too much stuff!!” It is my hope, and prayer, “customers” will find items for their garden.

The air is full of pollen; everything is covered with yellow powder. Just prior to the sale, I need to use my combination blower, vacuum, mulcher to “blow” pollen off my sale items. I can safely say everyone is suffering with allergies.

Yesterday was a great Saint Patrick’s Day. An unusual day (for me) because absolutely nothing done at home and yard. Lots of “socializing.” I need to work twice as hard today (lol)?!

Honestly, just thinking about all that needs attention makes me tired!! It’s 8:30 and I’d prefer to go back to bed!!

I enjoy my morning coffee–and I LOVE CLIP ART!!

Coffee preparation made simple ?!

.

For four years, I got my morning coffee from the CARE Center. Several years ago, I donated my wonderful DiLonghi (expensive) single-cup coffee maker to the CARE Thrift ‘n Gift shop. The past three months (since my eviction), I was using Folgers singles but (imho) not as tasty. I tried a “tea baller”  with ground coffee but grounds were dispersed into bottom of mug. I searched local Walmart and nothing located I thought would serve. Surprisingly, I found that strainer in my kitchen gadgets. It works beautifully–and I have “gourmet”  coffee without sacrificing limited kitchen counter  space (for coffee maker).

(I multi-task: This message prepared while listening to NBC-TV Meet the Press.)
