Propensity for the peculiar ?!

Lorraine here–from “the other computer.”

Seems (to me) it has been weeks since I’ve logged in and used “the (March 2017) new computer.” This one was purchased for the scanning project, ample hard drive storage, new website, etc., etc.  When I wrote about my addiction to Ancestry.com–and proposed to break the habit–I turned (returned) exclusively to “old faithful.” On that 2014 laptop computer, all my creative energy blog preparation and picture storage. (Clip art, too, lol.)

Today I ventured into the realms of the unknown; I set up a 3.0 flash drive and ReadyBoost. “Why?” Because the scanning project really added an enormous amount of information to this computer and, ofttimes, the operating system would become annoyingly slow. Weeks ago (on the Internet) I read about speeding up a computer using a flash drive. A week ago (on an irregular shopping trip), I purchased SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 Flash Drive, 128 GB. Today (for some unknown reason), I decided to attempt the set up. Here is the web link. I’ve been using computers since “the dark ages” but I get apprehensive when going into unknown areas (behind the scenes) of a computer. Gratefully, everything worked well and I’ll wait to see if I experience an improvement.

All this because I must (repeat: I must) return to the scanning project!! I am so weary of boxes cluttering my tiny living room/dining room/kitchen, and boxes under the blue tarp, on the patio, next to my door. ~~ (Putting “procrastination” in my rear view mirror?!)

Tremendous Thursday?!

Woeful woman !!

Apology: Emotional distress regarding Hurricane José,  Hurricane Maria, and earthquake in Mexico.  Furthermore: Aftermath of Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. ~~ I was exuberant because a wonderful day, in Livingston, for Lorraine.

Abracadabra

Procrastination in my rear view mirror?? Today I ordered a new RV electric cord and new surge protector.

If I am guilty of neglecting proper attention to my “power” needs, I hope to correct it with a new cord and surge protector. Recently I ordered a new cord but (old lady) goofed. Today I packaged it and will return to the vendor. Furthermore, packaged the air-conditioner motor and ready to send with hopes the warranty will replace it.

.

Too bad I can’t make a trip to the Post Office even more productive. I have boxes to send to Mennonite Family History but much too hot to wrestle with boxes in the storage building. Houston TV meteorologist states “feels like” temperature in the “triple digits.”

What a difference a day makes !!

Can you hear me singing at the top of my lungs?

“Hallelu, hallelu, hallelu, hallelujah, praise ye the Lord!! Praise ye the Lord, Hallelujah; praise ye the Lord, Hallelujah!!”

.

Yesterday morning I did not want to get out of bed because I was depressed. This morning I didn’t want to get out of bed because I was so comfortable!! The air-conditioner is such a blessing!

Lovebugs !!

While your old-lady blogger friend was struggling (suffering) with the air-conditioner problem, another CARE resident was struggling (suffering) with Lovebugs. For some strange reason, Lovebugs are drawn to white objects; they swarm on white vehicles. The CARE resident has a white porch, and ramp. Fly swatter in hand, the battle rages. Gratefully, fewer Lovebugs in my yard. Perhaps because I have lots of “green” and very little “white”? ~~ I remember a year ago, at the laundry-room, swarms of Lovebugs plastered against the white walls–inside and outside.

Loony Lorraine ?!

This is so weird; watching a TV movie at eight o’clock in the morning. I think that is a first. True to my intention, no Today show or local news. I’m ready to turn off the TV (and not see the end). Heading outdoors….

.

Loony old lady traded one chair for another. Pleasant on the patio!! But not an ounce of energy available for garden projects.

Looks are deceiving ?!?!

Smiling on the outside; suffering on the inside. Taking “timer” pictures is always a challenge for me so I created this little project to take my mind off the heat and humidity.

I took two dozen pictures but only have a few worth publishing.

.

Remember Jack Webb on the old Dragnet TV series? He would say “Just the facts, Ma’am; just the facts.” ~~ I’m not complaining; just the facts.
