I am often reminded of a “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter” commercial from twenty odd years ago: opening on an actress eating a muffin in a garden that’s all sunshine and light, birds, bees and butterflies… until she realizes it’s not butter then WHAM! like Bambi meets Godzilla it ‘s all thunder and lightening, hurricanes, storms and tornadoes. It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature.
Perhaps a better example are the Jurassic Park series of books by the late Michael Creighton, books that were not about dinosaurs but about just how little control we have over the monsters we’ve created.
