Captured by Grace, details about the life of Louis Zamperini.
Quite honestly, I would probably have to drive over sixty miles to a movie theater showing the movie Unbroken. But–courtesy of my television set–and Daystar—I watched Louis Zamperini tell his story in a Billy Graham film.
Today, the Rose Parade honored Mr. Zamperini.
Footnote: It’s possible Louis Zamerini and I worshiped in the same congregation: First Presbyterian Church Of Hollywood. My husband and I worshiped (1978-1983) under the ministry of Dr. Lloyd Ogilvie.

I just saw the new movie out about Louis Zamperini. I didn’t really know anything about him, but I kept getting this feeling that I had heard his name before. I kept thinking about it, and I felt as if I had known him or met him before. I started to get the feeling that it was from when I had gone to church. I asked a friend of mine if she knew if he had visited the church where we had attended back in the 90s. She said that she knew about him from this movie, but that she did not remember him from our church. This confirmed my suspicion/feeling that I had known him back in the day when I went to Hollywood Presbyterian Church in 1978. So I did a Google search with his name and Lloyd Ogilvie. Your post came up! So, I don’t know if I actually met him, or if I just knew his name from being in that congregation, but I was certainly excited to see your post and know that it was not my imagination. I am under the impression that he did something more official there then just attend. I have the feeling that he was an elder or something. If you know, I’d love to hear back. Thanks!
