The mold/mildew task is “on hold.” ~~ Today I wrestled heavy, HEAVY boxes out of the storage building and back into the storage building. I needed to rearrange so I could find items for inside the big trailer. Furthermore, this is a hand-in-glove task as I’m downsizing. Really!! At this hour (4:30 PM) I have the Yamaha generator/inverter on the sidewalk ready (almost) for delivery–for a donation. Also (for donation) an extremely large Coleman ice chest, my Halo vacuum cleaner, and one heavy oak bar stool. When the truck arrives… I’ll haul four heavy oak dining chairs out of the big trailer and I’ll help the driver get the two huge La-Z-Boy recliners. ~~
Today I tried to decide how to bring one of my folding bookshelves into the big trailer. One is inside…, two will be a donation. ~~ So I feel like I got a lot accomplished but, oh, my aching back!! Last activity: covering the items (for donation) with a large tarp because more rain coming tomorrow. Too few nice days, weather-wise!!
CARE has an annual Health Fair. Here is the information about last year’s Fair. A new feature this year: A Silent Auction. They hope to have an enormous variety of “high ticket” items like golf cart, generators, golf clubs, TVs, restaurant gift cards, etc., etc. I’m scheduled as a volunteer so asked–at Wednesday’s meeting–if a slightly used (never used) Yamaha Inverter would be welcome. “Yes.” So I asked about four lovely oak dining table chairs and got another “yes.” The 32-inch (nearly new) flat-screen TV is enthusiastically welcomed!~~ So–with a reasonably nice day–I dug into the storage building. The Health Fair is the last week of March so I want to “downsize” my bulky, more valuable items prior to the event. Smaller, less significant items will go to CARE for their “garage sale” the second week of April. (The garage sale items sell for fifty cents, one dollar, etc., etc. The enormous amount of stuff nets a pretty penny for CARE, but no expensive items. Correction: Some expensive items but they sell for,“yes,” garage sale bargain prices. Remember, at the CARE October garage sale, I got the Magma Stainless Steel cookware for $5.00??) ~~ “Downsizing” is my goal the next few weeks!!!!!!
If I’m honest–and sensible–I’ll forgo an organic vegetable garden this Spring and Summer. I’ll use my time and energy to funnel genealogy, photographs, poetry, books and other memorabilia to appropriate places (including trash receptacles). If I’m sensible….
