On the back burner…

Family history and Ancestry.com will have to wait. I’m on a new path. As many readers know, I have practiced health and nutrition half my lifetime. I just learned a cell tower is planned for my (almost) back yard. No way Jose!! So, I’m “researching” microwave emissions, etc., etc., One of the articles I read is titled Is Cell Tower Radiation Dangerous. I’m living in a community of “senior citizens.” Yes, younger RVer’s come and go but permanent residents are my age, and older. As we age, health problems rear their ugly head. We don’t need to complicate our health problems with another “trigger.”

Expect to hear a lot more from me on this topic!

Wild life

The squirrel is large enough to capture with telephoto lens. Ants, on the other hand, are too small… but they got my undivided attention. Out of nowhere, dozens of fire ants on my hands and arms. Welts, pus, itch….

Yada yada yada

All afternoon in the yard; raked leaves, burned limbs, twigs, and leaves. A gray, gloomy day (no sunshine) but pleasant to work outdoors. I hope, and pray, no more freezing temperatures because I removed covers from planters, and folded. Extremely tired and hoping for a good night’s sleep!

Cute little rodent ?!

Punxsutawney Phil gets his annual moment in the spotlight.

Of no particular interest to the reader, yours truly drove through that little Pennsylvania town. One of those times when I was traveling…, enjoying family reunions, and “doing” research.

Ten degrees in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania (according to Houston, Texas, TV meteorologist). Fifty-five degrees in Livingston, Texas (according to Lorraine’s reliable thermometer).

Save a tree ?

“MAJOR PROBLEM” next door: Two inches of water (so I’m told) inside their residence. Two men (and this old lady) searching for, and digging for, the shutoff.

.

Could not locate the shutoff.. During “the dig,” I made the effort to save the little Mimosa tree. I’ll “nurse” it and (if it survives) add it to the forthcoming “yard sale.” All afternoon in the yard. Very valuable exercise. Pleasant, short-sleeve T-shirt weather.

Twenty per cent ?!

At the beginning of the day, on NBC Today, lengthy discussion about “the Polar Vortex”  affecting eighty per cent of our Nation. Therefore,I’m living in the twenty per cent area?! They say “121,000,000” people are experiencing the extremely cold temperature.

..

Two days and counting: Two days in PJ’s and robe; two days without opening the door and venturing into the yard!!
