Begging for attention

Here is the exchange of email messages with a genealogy cousin who shares my love for Ancestry.

Lorraine,

FYI, I first send my inquiries to the profile manager via a private message in order to prevent any undue excitement.

Stay cool indoors…sounds pretty hot there.

Leland, last week I sent a private message to the project manager about John Frantz that she had listed as the son of Michael Frantz and Magdalena Zug. I directed her to my tree but I don’t know if she looked at it. That John Frantz was NOT the son of M & M. Now, today, she has the supposed wife of Michael Frantz and mother of Michael Frantz II. But plain as day, her sources were loaded with “unknown.” Things like that prompt me to create an image that is sure to attract attention.  FYI: There were researchers who did due diligence long before I came on the scene in the mid-1980s. Their research is well documented in Frantz Families–Kith & Kin (with sources). There was no information (known to me) with the name of Michael’s wife. The supposition was that she died during the voyage–supposition by all those scholarly Brethren devoted to documenting their very early itinerant preacher Michael Frantz (1687-1748). Leland, the early Brethren don’t get the recognition of Martin Luther, or Calvin, but Alexander Mack and Michael Frantz were part of the revolt against the Catholic Church.
Back to something I said last week: I don’t have time to document Frantz on WikiTree. I get the notifications when someone lists Frantz. Perhaps I should unsubscribe from WikiTree and Billion Graves because I’m getting two or three (sometimes more) notifications each day.
106 degrees on the balcony at 4:48 PM. Keeping cool, and I’ll climb another tree.

Shocking news !!

I was in the middle of preparation for the following image when a new ladyfriend neighbor phoned to check on me. “I’m fine, how are you?”  My neighbor has covid!! We have spent a lot of time together latelyduring the mealtime hours. On Friday, I drove her to her regularly scheduled doctor appointment. That was close contact in my KIA. So I’m requesting your prayers for my well-being. ~~~~ Now, about the image: Recently I subscribed to “Billion Graves”  with the request for the “Frantz” name only. I’ve received an avalanche of information and, until today, all have been Frantz individuals not in my Ancestry  database (so I add them to my database). This morning was the exception. I point you to the tiny print below the name and dates for Clifford Frantz. We are remotely related (lol). How often have I told the reader that I am obsessivecompulsive about Ancestry?  A cousin sends obituaries and the documentation is a full-time job. Recently, I asked WikiTree  for Frantz (only) information and that is a “hair-pulling” experience!! Those subscribers seem to grab information without sources. I’ve repeatedly added a comment directing the subscriber to my Lorraine Frantz Family Tree and Frantz Families–Kith & Kin (free on the Internet).

Whatya doin ?

I prefer to “climb the family tree” rather than go to the dining room for a meal. The past two days, I’ve enjoyed several very challenging research projects and I could not tear myself away from the computer. Below is an image I created to explain one of my quests for information.

Task for another day ?!

Recently, I removed the cobalt blue bottles from the bottle treeat my trailer home. Those LARGE wine bottles represent a lot of money if I (we) went out to purchase the product. Some… were a gift (in Livingston) while some were my purchase and someone else drank the wine and returned the bottle. Conservatively, I could not duplicate those bottles for $100.00 (or more). I’ll replace the smaller cobalt blue bottles. Very few people will ever see the display on my balcony BUT  the bottles are part of who I am. (Peculiar??)

.

One day very soon, the painters will be finished with their job. I’ll be able to return a number of things to my balcony.

Bottle bushes and bottle trees are often referred to as “poor man’s stained glass.”
