Or: “Hurry up and wait.” I’m not very high on the priority list of several business enterprises. After several delays, I was told the movers would be here today. It’s 9:30 and no phone calls or movers. I’ve been waiting for several days for the realtor to come and look at the trailer and take the listing. I expected Tami and Joey to return for more collectibles. I’m tired because I only got four hours of sleep. To bed at ten but awake at two. For three hours I tossed and turned but could not go back to sleep. Up at five… and I’ve done a load of laundry and washed a few dishes. I’m out of boxes, crates, totes, etc., so I can’t pack anything else. It’s already ninety degrees outdoors and, perhaps, equally hot indoors. Time to turn on the A/C.
Have you heard that old saying? It relates to the farmer butchering the hog. From my recent pictures, you might think Lorraine saves everything. Well “almost everything.” The thermal bag will be used one more time. It is falling apart (from old age, like Lorraine). It’s a “dreary” day, with no sunshine, honestly portrayed in the pictures of my yard. A “dreary” day because I hate to give up my independence.
What do I do with all these cherished items? (The Bible and photographs—not the picture of Lorraine.) 10:30 AM and already “too hot” to work in the carport.
