Cold, gray day !!

The day is a reflection of my emotions: Gloomy.

One day early in his tenure, Dr. Ogilvie convened the Senate by asking God to “hope through us today.” He prayed: “Make us people who are a lift and not a load, a blessing and not a burden.”

Covid calamity !!

My 86th birthday is just around the corner. I’m “too old” to renew my driver’s license on-line. We are forced to make an appointment for driver’s license services. This is Monday, February 8th, and the earlier available appointment is Friday, April 23rd at 10:30 AM. Ten and one-half weeks until my appointment.

Procrastinate no more ??

It was such a delight to look out in my yard and see Narcissus blooming.  I haven’t done any gardening here; I’m enjoying the flowers and rose bushes planted by the previous resident. I look forward to Spring!!

The indoor-outdoor thermometer received my attention and I (finally) successfully established communication between the outdoor sensor and indoor receiver. ~~ Essential oil wafting pleasant odor in my living room. ~~ In the yard, Spring garden flags replaced the Winter flags. ~~ Tabletop with the computers cleared of clutter. It’s just the beginning because dozens of projects are going to receive attention.

Translation from German to English simply says “healthy.” However, my lifelong understanding of the word is “God bless you.”  Decades ago (centuries ago) the German folks were superstitious and they thought a person’s soul would fly out of their body when they sneezed–and thus the expression “God bless you.” ~~ Sneeze or no sneeze, this is my greeting to you.
