Ballet dancer ?

.

Today I recognize (among other things) I should be a ballet dancer. Why? Because I must always be “on my toes.” (lol) Yesterday I established a new “tree” on Ancestry.com. This morning, I was “dancing” between my two trees and found this strange error on my original tree. How did this happen? I am a fanatic about accuracy in my family tree. Last night, I was experiencing “pride” because I successfully accomplished the Herculean task of importing information from a “thumb drive.” Remember the quote “Pride goes before a fall.”

More valuable than gold ??

Platinum has more value than gold. I found that my new Ancestry database has a virtual encyclopedia of additional information regarding each individual. Well, perhaps the information is limited to the immediate family of my family member who created the database? Obviously, I have not looked at everyone in the 75,109 people database.

Saint Patrick’s Day lacks luster ?!

Because of the Coronavirus pandemic, very few celebrations. I’m not sick but I am sad. My website has not been restored yet. The weather lacks luster, too. Rain predicted every day this week. ~~ This morning I received an email with information about the wife of a fourth cousin so (obviously) I had to “climb that tree.” Yesterday I received “snail mail” from a cousin. He sent a “thumb drive” with information regarding 75,109 members of our family and collateral lines. Approaching that project is scheduled for a later date!! I’m wondering if I will ever return to gardening because Ancestry is endless and I’m adicted.

Luck of the Irish ?

“No, ‘Irish’  doesn’t have an iota of credit.”

This evening, I am feeling so much gratitude for “cousins” who have shared their information with me. Many years ago, I was a stranger among my newly-discovered Old German Baptist Brethren (church) cousins. They accepted me because of my maiden name: Frantz. They were so generous with their family history.

Yesterday (via “snail mail”) I received a “thumb drive” with information regarding the ancestry (and collateral lines) of my paternal grandmother. It has been decades since I worked with a GEDCOM file. I didn’t know how to upload the information to Ancestry.com. I requested–and received–information (via email) from a cousin through my maternal line.

My heart is swelling with love and my eyes are moist with tears. I am so grateful that I have been entrusted with valuable family information.

Pot o’ gold ?

In less than three hours, I miraculously achieved an Ancestry database with 75, 109 individuals. My earlier Ancestry database contains 28,806 individuals and it took approximately six years to reach that number. (Although the families are entwined, these will remain two separate databases.)

“SICK”

“SICK” in capital letters!! “The old lady” is sick but not from the Coronavirus. A website I created several years ago has vanished into cyberspace. It is my most-cherished website titled Frantz Families-Kith & Kin. More precious to this family historian than worldly possessions. Blood, sweat, and tears went into the original publication (before 1996) and it has been valuable as I document the families on Ancestry.com.

Postscript to “SICK”

.

I am so grateful for help and prayers. The problem is not resolved but I searched (and searched, and searched) until I found the answer. My current problem is where and how to make the payment and redeem the website. I’ve been to Weebly and failed to make the necessary connections.
