So much bad news this morning as I watch the NBC-TV Today show. The heat in the West is oppressive and the fires are so destructive. I “know” some of those communities and I, involuntarily, begin to weep. I’ll limit reference to a link to fires in Oregon, and temperature in my former home community, Lancaster, California.

Random list: The boys in Thailand and rescue team; fire fighters; displaced homeowners by fire and flood; President Trump….

The “bottle tree” has been on display for Memorial Day, Flag Day, & Independence Day. Time to retire it until Labor Day? Back indoors at 9:30 because very humid.

The air-conditioner had a vacation–until six PM. Then A/C a “must” due to the humidity. ~~ Yesterday was, likewise, a vacation for me. My yard work was limited to a few pictures of fallen limbs (LOTS of fallen limbs). ~~ Time spent with the camera, on the tripod, for a picture of the blogger.

The “filtering” project isn’t complete but important to spread the previously prepared ashes. According to TV meteorologist we will have a soaking rain tomorrow.

Thunder, lightning, hard rain for about fifteen minutes during evening of July 3rd. Yours truly is uncertain when rain started early morning July 4th but reduced to mist when picture taken of rain gauge.

Recess?? Approximately one-and-one-half hours watering and fertilizing the plants. “Fertilize”  is my first-of-the-month ritual.  I’m “downsizing” (lol)  using “left over” products from previous seasons. Honestly, very little expense for my yard this year.

Between TV-church programs and between commercials, I quickly gave my plants a drink of water. ~~ In the picture, on the left, my tomato plant and fig tree. I’ve enjoyed my first tomato and first fig.
