Before eight, after eight

Before eight o'clockBefore eight, I watered plants, and sprayed for unwanted insects on plants. Outdoor temperature was seventy-nine degrees but “feels like” was ten or eleven degrees higher. My garden is suffering; many plants look like they are dying. Elephant Ear plant leaves are turning yellow.

Eight ball.pngAfter eight, mundane, routine, boring, etc., etc., tasks inside my trailer home. One enjoyable project: Preparation of blog messages. Smiley face emotions(Readers may find them mundane, routine, boring, etc., etc., but I love to search for clip art, edit clip art, and prepare a message.)

N.U.T.s !!

Nuts, mixed nuts

Nuts and bolts

.

Dr. Oz used the term “NUTs” on a recent program. It tweaked my imagination and I felt compelled to use it for a blog message. Dr. Oz identified the abbreviation  “Nagging Unfinished Tasks.” ~~ It tweaked my attention because I have too many unfinished tasks!! Too few hours, too many projects!! That may explain why I escape to the garden and/or bury myself  on the computer?!?!

Smiley face sorryDo you remember Tennessee Ernie Ford? I’m reminded of his song Sixteen Tons and I’d like to paraphrase: “Saint Peter don’t you call me ’cause I can’t go; I have unfinished business, you know.”

Remember when… ?

Defrosting freezerThis picture was prompted because (yesterday) I saw (on the Internet) many posters with “remember when…” images. Examples below. ~~ The extreme heat has forced me to work indoors. I’m “deep cleaning”!! So I’ve tackled cupboards, closets, and refrigerator. Do you remember when all refrigerators needed periodic defrosting? Click the picture twice and it will be large enough for you to see the size of the frost.

Remember when we used a phone on the wall

Exceeding one-hundred degrees !!

And it isn’t even “summer”!!

All the recent rain saturated the ground. That moisture “over watered” my plants. Here we are, a few days later, and my plants are wilting from heat because they need water. ~~ “No,” I’m not a thermometer watcher; I only glance at the weather station occasionally.

Temperature at almost six PM

Temperature at six-five

Old toy, new joy !!

Magnet with stick figureLorraine with tomato plantsThe garden “calls” to me. It draws me like  magnet. However, it is so beastly hot and humid, I can’t linger in the garden. I was eager to experiment (again) taking pictures using the self-timer. Creating a blog message is my second love, so here I am with only one picture (and two clip art).

Smiley face sweatingAt 2:30, my thermometer says ninety degrees but “feels like” temperature is ten to thirteen degrees higher. Yes, TV meteorologist’ are hiking the temperature as much as thirteen degrees!!

Heat Index for Tuesday

Grateful for A/C !!

Temperature at six My preference: Windows and door open!! I use limited air-conditioning but grateful for it when needed. Last night, at bedtime, it was “so muggy” I continued to run the air-conditioner. At 6:00 AM, I stepped into the yard, briefly, and it felt like a sauna. ~~ The Houston TV meteorologist says “feels like” temperatures eight to ten degrees beyond documented number.

Temperature at eightTV weather reportRegrettably, “Yours truly” will not be working in the garden today.

One-half inch of rainHeavy rain for about fifteen minutes dropped the temperature but humidity is almost unbearable.
