Eyeing the temperature

Temperature at four

Temperature at seven-thirty

——-

The TV meteorologist’ in Houston did not advise freezing temperatures–so I didn’t cover the large plants. However, I was concerned–and checked–at 4 o’clock AM.

Postscript, same day, 6:00 PM: After the forecast, I moved several planters into the tarp shelter. I am not covering planters with sheets. I hope we don’t have an unexpected freeze.

“For the birds !!”

Bird seed in back of KIAYours truly went shopping yesterday afternoon for bird seed–and groceries. Tractor Supply received over $100.00–and “my birds” are worth every penny!! I added dog treats, too, because I’m giving goodies to David’s dog, Poncho, and Richard’s dog, Rosie.

‘Tis the season!! I want to lavish my critters with good food, too.

Postscript, Saturday, December 5, 2015: Pictures taken through the window so reflections, and distortion. ~~ I suspect the “red-head” is a Woodpecker but not enough markings for me to know which family.

For the fun of it !!

Chains from tree limbsTrue, I have lots of tree limbs and several Shepherd’s Hooks. However (for many months), I’ve planned for chains hanging from tree limbs. Right now, I have wind chimes hanging from two… but will have hanging baskets next Spring.

(Click each picture to enlarge so easier to view the chain.)

Yesterday, I purchased hose clamps to secure the “limbs” on the Feeding Station. They are attached, and spray painted black to blend in.

Why, why, why ???

Question markWhy are human beings so cruel?? Mass shootings!!

San Bernardino, California!! That’s just “down the road” from where I lived for over forty years.

Spousal abuse; dead and injured children. The TV news has an overload of negative stories.

I add “neglected, rejected Seniors.” My circle of acquaintances is ninety-nine percent “seniors.” Most of us have the same sad story of rejection by children. Why are human beings so cruel?

Heart attackI’m particularly depressed at this time of year (holidays). Today, I’m actually physically sick as I ponder “Why are human beings so cruel?”.

Uplifted spirits !!

A beautiful, sunny morning. I spent hours puttering in the yard–and filling bird feeders. (The birds are so happy!!)
